Thank you for this tutorial, I've been looking for something like this! How long are you usually able to keep these decorations up? (Specifically the oranges and cranberries)
@stuartmoorestextiles3 жыл бұрын
So glad to hear that! :) If you dry the orange slices all the way, they will stick around for months and months and months. The cranberries will look nice for about a month if you weed out the already shrivelled up one when you are making the garland initially. The popcorn stays really nicely for a few months too if it stays untouched and the pinecone hangers can last for years. Hope that helps!

@@stuartmoorestextiles Thank you! I didn't realize they'd last that long, now I'm even more excited to make them!

So beautiful, how long will the cranberries last?
@stuartmoorestextiles Жыл бұрын
It just depends on how hot your home is but in my experience 3-4 weeks. ☺️🎄

I'm trying to follow along on translation so i apologize if this is already stated. Can you sell cranberry ornaments at a fair or something? Do they have to be dried first or can they last without. Just not sure. Thanks!
@stuartmoorestextiles Жыл бұрын
There are wooden versions you can buy that look just like string cranberries. This version is just cranberries, not dried. They last a few weeks if your house is very warm, a month if it's cooler.

Can you use regular sewing thread and needle?
@stuartmoorestextiles Жыл бұрын
For the popcorn, yes! Highly recommend but just double up the thread. ☺️

@@stuartmoorestextiles The oranges. Do you think yarn is best for a cranberry garland or fishing wire? Also how long do both the cranberries and oranges last?
@stuartmoorestextiles11 ай бұрын
For the oranges I use twine and for the cranberry garland I used cotton tapestry yarn which is the same size as household cotton twine for baking (found at any hardware store). Hope that helps! ☺️👍

Can i use salted microwave popcorn???
@stuartmoorestextiles2 жыл бұрын
I would avoid buttered popcorn because it makes the popcorn soft and you need the popcorn to be strong enough to stay in one piece when you thread it with a needle. If there is microwave popcorn without butter I would give it a go! And let me know how it goes if you do! ☺️

Are these cranberries from the bag or frozen?
@stuartmoorestextiles2 жыл бұрын
Fresh from a bag. One thing I have noticed, I always use what is around, one year I used organic one year regular. The regular cranberries last much longer!

I came here to see how to dehydrate cranberries. You didn't show this, so did you dehydrate the cranberries you showed in the video????
@stuartmoorestextiles11 ай бұрын
Nope, all cranberries in this video are normal cranberries. Dehydrated cranberries look like raisins.

I came on here because I thought that there was instructions on how to dry out pomegranates. I can’t seem to find it anywhere. I want to draw a whole pomegranates for decor.
@stuartmoorestextiles Жыл бұрын
Dehydration is pretty straightforward: cook at really low temperatures until the fruit loses moisture. A whole pom might take longer than an orange slice but it's the same process.
