DIY Nourishing Lip Balm for Sensitive Skin | Very Brief and Easy Step by Step

This is my best recipe for nourishing and moisturizing lip balm that is pretty easy to make and your lips will love it. Let me know if you have any questions.

Of course any essential oil of your choice or no oil at all will work, but this is my preferred blend for making it delicious and beneficial for my skin. (Use only 10-15 drops of this blend in the recipe)
1. Helichrysum flower extract - 40 drops (I would NOT recommend it to substitute with Helichrysum essential oil). Omit this ingredient if you do not have the flower extract.)
2. Peppermint essential oil - 20 drops
3. Grapefruit essential oil - 20 drops
4. Ginger essential oil - 7 drops
5. Ylang Ylang essential oil - 5 drops
Mix, melt and blend the ingredients for Lip Balm (add in this sequence). Try not to heat beyond the melting point.
1. Refined Shea Butter - 2 tbs
2. Raw Organic BeesWax - 1.5 tbs
3. Emulsifying Wax Pastilles -2/3 tbs
4. Vegetable Glycerin -1 tbs
5. Sweet Almond Oil - 1 tbs
6. Aloe Vera Gel - 1 tbs
7.
Liquid Vitamin E Complex - 1/2 tsp
8. Tia's essential oils blend - 10 drops

The only Helichrysum Alcohol-Free Liquid Extract I found that is easy to buy is this amzn.to/47QEDre
Helichrysum essential oil will have a completely different, much stronger aroma, which is still beneficial for skin but might not be appreciated in the lip balm.

Thank you for your question Preeta. I make this type of lip balm for many years, approximately every 8 month. Sometimes it stays in the fridge for a year and it doesn't spoil. Of course all containers and utensils used in the process should be clean. I also wipe containers with alcohol during preparation for filling them with lip balm. After the final product cools and solidifies on the shelve of the fridge, I put the in the ziplock bag, so they don'e get any fridge smell through the months of storage. 😊 I hope this helps. Enjoy!

With aloe vera gel will u not need a preservative....? It's a hydrous formulation coz if the gel....so was wondering

Good point! If you make your own aloe vera gel from the plant you will definitely need a preservative. But the store bought gel already has that. I realize that it almost defeats the purpose of purity for diy product, but it makes it so much easier, and still pretty close to "all natural, limited ingredients". 😊
