Thank you so much!! I've tried to learn this one through a book by a famous author of an oragami book, but it wasn't quite so easy as watching your complete video -there's just something about SEEING it happen, as opposed to using book illustrations. Inside of this shape I am placing a first wedding anniversary gift, a beautiful ring, for my wife and presenting it to her at a restaurant in just a few days, so it is EXTREMELY important that I learn to make this quick. You gave me the best possible video instruction. THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!

Jack Sawyer Wow, Jack! I am so happy to read that you've learned from this video. That is so wonderful for you to make this for your anniversary! I'm sure your wife will love it a lot. Please take a picture and share it! It would be such a beautiful moment to capture on camera, and a lovely story to share. I hope you have a great day. Wishing you and your wife the happiest life and many, MANY, MANY more anniversaries to come. :-) Thanks for watching my video, and I hope that you'll watch more and share them with your friends!

5 years back. When I was in the 5th grade my teacher had presented me with one of these I always wanted to learn how to make it. Finally I have found it. I'll try to remake it. I still have hers. This is probably the most valuable origami creation to me.

Aww, that is so sweet! Maybe you can make one, and pay her a visit and surprise her with it? 😊

@@OrigamiTree i just bought the paper and yes that's exactly what I was planning. Before going to college I'll pay her a visit and gift her one of these.

Um... I don't think that's a Stellated Dodecahedron. The Stellated Dodecahedron is the one with 12 pointy thingies sticking out. The "Stellated Icosahedron" is the one with 20.

Ahh!! I always get my shapes mixed up. I think we had a similar conversation before haha. One day, I'll get it right! Thanks! :-D

Hi, I hold a degree in Architectural Engineering and I want to clarify the Geometry for you. There are 2 types of Stellated Dodecahedrons, the Lesser Stellated Dodecahedron And the Greater Stellated Dodecahedron. The Great Stellar Dodecahedron is One of 4 Kepler-Poinsot polyhedron. The Great Stellar Dodecahedron is the Only One with 20 Points. The Lesser Stellar Dodecahedron has 12 Points. The 4 are: Small(Lesser) Stellar Dodecahedron (12 point) Greater(Large) Stellar Dodecahedron (20 Point) The Great Dodecahedron (12 Point) (not to be confused with the 12 Face regular Dodecahedron) The Great Icosahedron (12 Point) (not to be confused with the regular 20 Face Icosahedron) All 4 have 30 edges! All have 12 Faces And 12 Points(Vertices) *EXCEPT* The Great Stellar Dodecahedron has 12 Faces & 20 Points The Great Icosahedron has 20 Faces & 12 Points. Therefore 2 Common types of Stellar Dodecahedron exist. The Lesser having 12 Pentagonal Stellations. The Greater having 20 Triangular Stellations. (Not to be confused with the Stellations of the Icosahedron) As the Stellations get greater the Thorns get Sharper. I think you did Great^!!^

Just made this star (okay, I have made it for christmas, I think it would fit great into my classroom, because every year we have a competition on my school about which classroom is the nicest, and my class won last year and three years ago. I always make origami on the 'juleklippedag' as we call it - it means christmascuttingday...) and it is great! I am not that good at origami (the only things I have been making before are boxes, an elephant and different stars and ornaments), but this tutorial was amazing and I made it perfectly in first try - it took about one and a half hour to make. When i made it, I used paper clips to hold the units together and when the star was 100% finished, I took them off. Thanks, was quite easy and only took 80minutes. I'm thinking about doing one with 6 pieces per circle to make a bigger one. Any chance you already tried that and can tell me how many pieces that would need?

Ok.. so I thought I would try this thing..cause I always wanted to..and how hard could it be? I had it all well and good until assembly.. I even checked 5 other tutorials on putting the ball together and they were all the same... not clear enough for me to understand. Lol I have done origami since I was a kid..so I am not a "dummy". But this has me stumped... If you wanted to.. a tutorial on just assembly would be greatly appreciated... cause mine looks like a dogs breakfast!!! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha :) Love your videos!!! ;) xox
