Am an ornithopter designer too. Am trying to build the peregrine falcon. I was using servo as my drive gear mechanism, but it turns out am not satisfied in the flapping frequency. I got 3hz on 7.4v. Kinda poor. My question is does much flapping frequency or flapping speed gives more lift and thrust? Also should I aim for speed or torque on my wings? Thank you

Listen I become a big fan. The video is amazing, love the style you bring to it. I would defenitly build one! I want it for so long time, funny, I did the same research but didn't manage to take it as good as you did. I will be using your video to show in my MakerLabs for inspiration. ❤️

I have “0” experience with Arduino, and am not near smart enough to attempt this challenge, but I AM dumb enough to attempt it anyway. I just need to find more pre-made parts to accomplish it. Wish me luck! I just hope I can learn enough from your other videos to get me going!

Great video man. I read your complete article on instructions.com. I have already started working on my ornithopter. I have a problem and was seeking your expert advice. Can I go for a low KV motor such as 1000kv that ways I won't have to use much gears and the torque will also be high making it more efficient. P.S subscribed already
@CyberCouch5 жыл бұрын
Sorry for not replying earlier. Yes, such motor seems appropriate. But you will need to calculate the gear sizing (size and number of sprockets) to have the necessary flap rate.
