You guys are such an inspiration to this 65 year old lady. I feel like we could do something like this! Thank you for videoing all of it. I, for one, really appreciate it. What a great math lesson!

That thing is built better than most houses.

I feel you on the roofing felt. I, too, have a huge roll I bought, since I was replacing some damaged T&G siding on my 1950's garage, and the tar paper took some damage while I was getting that all done. Needed a couple 1'x2' pieces. I told a neighbor that I've not got roofing material for his kids "fort" once it cools down.

I think you excel at everything you do!

On the front fascia board consider a shallow saw kerf on the bottom edge to prevent any water wicking along the bottom edge back towards the face of the structure.

That came out amazing!👍🏻

Hopefully you have adequate roof pitch: The minimum roof pitch for shingles is a 2:12 pitch.

Suggestion for your miss cut with the straight edge is to use double sided carpet tape to hold down the middle sow the saw won’t go underneath it.

That looks fantastic! I think you have found another career! LOL!

look up shooting board for circular saw i have two 1 8 feet one 5 feet made from 1/2 in plywood it will save you a tone of time and is cheaper than a track saw. Last time i said to plane all lumber at the same depth than change i know you tried that and didn't like it but if you set up saw horses on each side of the planer and run it through and moving lumber the other side it will be faster and and easier your back will thank you

Not a heated space, no need for ice&water shield, since you won't have melting under the snow from internal heat.

😮 that is one bomb proof storage box!! One might even say... you definitely turned that sows ear into a silk purse😂 but all joking aside, the front soffit, while the rain may not be blowing up under that, snow definitely will. It might not be a bad idea to box it closed. Just saying🤷♂️ you're there, I'm not. Do as you feel best. Are you going to build your house yourself?? Btw... another 3' taller? And you'd have yourself the Cadillac of outhouses!😅😮😉

It’s pretty solid! I get what you’re saying about the soffit. It’s probably not obvious from the video but it is essentially closed. There’s just a small hollow section behind the fascia board but it doesn’t go anywhere because there’s another 2x4 right behind it. I guess I could caulk the seams there to really seal it up though. Yes, we are building the house ourselves too. Obviously a much bigger project than this, and to much higher standards, but this was a fun practice run. It would be an amazing outhouse if a little taller 🤣
