For anyone concerned about the books 📚 I used to work in the back room of a small Goodwill in a small town and we recycled huge quantities of books. For every 500 books that were donated maybe one would sell. The vast majority never even made it out onto to “floor” to be sold, they just went straight into recycling. So now if I want to use book pages in projects I just go buy some from thrift stores ♥️
@SarahTypes4 жыл бұрын
yes! that's where I bought mine.. I figured that's what happens because I imagine not many of the books I saw at the thrift would sell.
@yankis. Жыл бұрын
YES. Some people cannot grasp the fact that not all books are valuable. There are some truly awful books out there that no one wants or needs. Also outdated scientific books that are no longer relevant.

It’s ironic that this came up on my page at this exact time. Sure hope the bots aren’t watching our videos now too lol. Anyways, I am sitting here right now testing index cards folded into 3 three sections long wise, wrapping ribbon around it, and then plan to go back and tape the remaining flap down as well. I wanted to see if it would work before I did a bunch folding and tape prep. It’s pretty cute so I’m going to bave to do a few more test ones with bigger cards to see if they are better or worse.

I'm an avid reader and though I would never harm my personal collection of books or any rare printed book, one cannot deny that there are tons and tons of badly worn mass market paperbacks sitting in used book stores and second hand stores that no one will most likely read. I worked for an online book reseller once and if repurposing book pages hurts your soul, you'd be screaming at how badly treated these books were and still are. If they were deemed to not make more than 25 cents back, then were haphazardly tossed into the "trash" crate to be sent down to another sorting business to be repeated over and over. Anyway, I really love the page idea for packaging stickers and I'll definitely be using it myself!
@SarahTypes4 жыл бұрын
i'm glad you found it useful! I definitely went and got a used book from value village that was really cheap and looked like something no one would want to read.. I thought I was giving it a great second life! And maybe the person who gets it as packaging will read it and imagine how the rest of the story went!
