Your daughter's expression when trying coffee tell's it all. She will probably remember building parabolic mirror with dad and first coffee for the rest of her life. What a great memory.

#1 reason I'm divorced? My wife never phoned and said excitedly that there was a satellite dish on the side of the road. Would it have killed her?

Right?! Any wife that would make that phone call is a keeper.
@davidduffy98067 жыл бұрын
Albion Laster Tony's Wife didn't call.... The conversation would have gone something like this.... Tony: "Honey I found a satellite dish, it would be perfect for showing the kids how parabolic dishes can focus light" Wife: "If you bring home one more piece of trash I am chaining you to the Oxy bottle".... (sound of slamming phone)

When my daughter asked to try coffee my wife asked what I thought. I assumed that, like most kids, she would try it, spew it and that would be the last I would hear of it for years. What I hadn't counted on was the fact that my wife's coffee is basically a milkshake with a dash of espresso in it. I said yes, and now she's hooked. Dad fail.

Ahh the memories.. Graduating from 60mm objectives to Fresnel lenses to make bigger holes in the asphalt (somewhere in 1983 there was a closet full of stripped 3M overhead projectors). I've done this exact thing with junked Offset-feed Ku reflectors, it's amazing how well this works even with the low reflectivity of aluminized duct seal tape. My kids loved the experience too! Great Dad. Keep 'em in the shop, question everything, and absorb it all. Love it!
