DIY Pendant Swag Light | Inspired by Lone Fox

Today I am creating the pendant light look by using a swag light/cord kit from IKEA. I used a basket from IKEA to create a pendant light which this idea was inspired by Lone Fox and the link to that video is down below :)

I love your voice! Thank you for this demo, I just bought a boho basket weave bamboo pendant light from World Market and was wondering if I need to pay a handyman or if I can do it myself. 🤔 I'm not handy at all but I can follow directions, lol

@@GeliBite Thank you, haven't put it up yet, had to get a good light bulb from Ikea. Btw, did you just screw cup hooks in the drywall in the ceiling? Or does it need specific tools? Thanks in advance!

@@liabooker9480 Yep my lamp was quite light so I just screwed the cup hook straight in the drywall :) Though in the future if you have anything super heavy like a heavy plant you want to hang I would recommend using a spring toggle hook some of them can hold around 10kgs

@@GeliBite Thank you so much! I watched quite a few videos and they all used a power drill to put the hole in the ceiling, then a plastic stud thingy and lastly the cup hook. I never used a power drill nor own one, lol. I hope it will screw in the drywall without it like you said. I don't want to have to hire a handy man just for this. :/

Is it safe to use a stronger light bulb with this basket shade?

Hi! The light bulb itself in my case doesn’t touch the basket so temperature of the bulb should be okay, if you are worried though an LED bulb won’t radiate much heat ❤ I have upgraded my bulb a while ago to an LED not for heat concerns but because I wanted a bulb that could connect to my Alexa and wifi, that bulb has been great and way more bright than the bulb shown in my video I hope that helps!!! The bulb I’m using now is the Mirabella Genio LED Candle RGB
