That's good Bev. I too have a thing for lamps and bought me an old swag and then used the beautiful glass on a table lamp...I enjoy doing anything mechanical. I have fixed my washer, dryer and my oven.. I thought I fixed our lawn mower and everyone watching was very surprised when it started right up, that is until it starting shooting the bearings like b'b's. then they ran for cover. It was funny! And is now a great memory...

It's so cool that you showed the plug assembly! I haven't seen anyone else do that on a video before. It isn't to say that doesn't exist on a video - or even many - but I haven't yet seen anyone else do it in any videos pertaining to lamp assemblies and it's an aspect I really needed to know. What kind of store did you buy all the supplies from?

I always learn something new when I tiptoe through your archives Bev, that tip about softening the cord plastic would have been good to know, they should teach stuff like this in school! I wonder why some enterprising mind hasn't come up with different colours for lighting cord? Brown was useful in the 1930's house but it's just intrusive nowadays Brown, Black or White, all useless against a chain! It's the same over here, we just have different plugs.

We used to manage a 270 unit motel. Can't even count how many of those I repaired. People treat them like heavy machinery or let their kids swing from them or something..
@hollyxo.
@hollyxo. 6 жыл бұрын
OMG. People are so rude anymore. My mom NEVER allowed us to do anything to other people's things that could ruin them. If we even got a little too giggly while sitting on someone else's sofa, she'd ream us a new one. These days so many parents - well - they just don't seem to parent. They let their kids do whatever they want with other people's things. I don't even get it. And if kids were swinging from these lamps, didn't that rip at least some of them from the ceiling, leaning a repair in need of being done their too?
