Finally, someone who has lived the pain with me!!! Honestly, it was as much about the burn but I was also thinking about the softness of the chenille so wire didn't scratch a door, mirror or window. Thanks for writing in Michael!!!

I have made those but you don't have to use pipe cleaners all you do is put them in hot water and they will close when they close you stick them in the wreath in the different wired sections and then you put them in the oven at a very very low temperature and they'll slowly open up when they do they hold each other in there what you're doing is taking the long way around

Eileen!!! You should be feeling like you've won the lottery - dry pinecones are most ideal - YIPPEE!!! Only thing is to work on a covered surface - the dried sap will flake away almost like a powder. Hi Bonnie! Thanks for trying the project. So... I used to make them with florist wire, but found the exposed wire scratched the door. When I did, I just took time to make sure the wire was tight around the base of the cone before I attached it to the wire form. @@Weekendatthecottage My pinecones are the prickly fat ones, so maybe that's why. Try #2: used 22 gauge florist wire, wired the pinecones to the 1st and 2nd ring of the wreath. Hi Mr. Stringy! Yikes - sorry you had spiders in your cones. I had mine stored in the shed, but no spideys. Hope you're still able to proceed?

Soaked my Pinecones in a bucket of Bleach & Water for 24 hours. Not only killed potential Spiders, but turned the Pinecones a Golden color.
