You, sir, are the MacGyver of miniature terrain building. And I applaud you for it. Keep those videos coming.

That light vegetation/large base idea was great! Never put that together in my head b4. Good stuff, Scotty.

Keep an eye out at your local dollar store, I picked up a 10"x10" mat that had 64 of those individual bushes. Same exact type, just in a flat mat instead of a ball, and for only $1. They had a few other fake grass types as well.

That plant ball was a find! I'll have to keep my eye out for that one. Always love the aquarium section. : )

Hey, we spend so much on the other stuff like books, minis and what not. I often found that the only difference between a great model and a awesome one is the time the craftsman spent working. Also most people forget that you are looking at this stuff from almost 3' away. A good texture looks fantastic with just a base coat, wash and highlight. DONE! LETS PLAY!

I would love to see you DMing a game using these items. If you haven't one, I haven't seen it yet.

Good idea, my only fear is that the velcro would lift the plant off the surface too high. Another alternative could be to use thin sheet magnets.

If you had some extra pennies or metal washers you could glue them on to the base to add some weight?
@theDMsCraft12 жыл бұрын
as long as you all want to see the vids I will keep them coming.

What about using little velcro circles on the bottoms of the plants, to attach them to tiles ? Quick and no sliding =)

Couldn't agree more.

Cool, please do.

It's crazy sometimes when you look at how little this cost per model. If the plant was $4.00 and you pulled 3 doz. parts that's $.11 each. The sand is even less, glue negligible and you can get the cardboard for free. Using a simple to more detailed scheme is only a matter of time.

Could those buds be trimmed further to have like only 1 or 2 branches? I was thinking of something to use to show weeds growing through the cracks of flagstone.
@theDMsCraft6 жыл бұрын
sure could, that would work great

always an option.

I think I have that mini. Did you repaint him?

Can you paint the aquarium plants, as I am looking to make some alien vegetation?
@theDMsCraft7 жыл бұрын
Sure can but many aquarium plants come in strange colors that would make great alien plants.

I assume the paint is acrylic?

Could you use washers as the plant base?
@lastdollarfilms9 жыл бұрын
+Dungeon Master Jake I do. I use 1" washers and a 1" hole punch and a regular hole punch. I put a 1" circle of card stock on the bottom and then make a "top" the same way but add a smaller hole in the middle to sit the plant down in. Fill it with hot glue, stick in the plant, paint and flock. Right now i'm working on a forest setting and use parsley and Italian herb mixed to give me a more realistic color blend. I do crush up the flocking a little to break up some of the bigger pieces. for a few days your storage area will smell delicious.

Nope, he is just a pre-painted mini straight out of the box.
