Maybe you could install two inexpensive white roller shades below the basement window to roll down when you need a nice clean backdrop for your pictures and then you can put them away when you don’t. That way they will stay nice and clean and will be there as needed.

Sophia, I think you did a great job of putting the buffet together (especially now you have your new electric screwdriver), and I think it looks better placed against the back wall. Also, not sure if your buffet has these, but most modern furniture door hinges usually have little levelling screws (not the ones that attach them to the furniture) that adjust forward and backwards to balance how your hinges sit, so the doors close together level with an equal gap all the way around. I have a suggestion for hiding the wall: Why not use a large piece of MDF or thickish wood board (either painted, contact paper veneered or wallpapered) screwed to the back of the buffet that goes up to the ceiling to make a back panel to the cabinet to hide the wall behind. It can be edge with decorative wooden trim. You could even screw shelf brackets to it and add shelves.

My idea of birthday/ Mother's Day presents are appliances and tools. There is nothing wrong with being practical! This year, for Christmas, I'm getting my very first computerized sewing machine!!! The Brother Innov-is A150 🤩🎄🎁🥰 it's the automatic thread cutter for me! For context, I currently have the Brother GS2510, which is a little beast of a machine and has served me very well for over 7 years, so it will be a bit of an upgrade 😊

I think you can get feet like on the bottom of the front of a fridge ,that screw out of the base so you can make one side higher,also they slide if you want to clean behind it..

I love power tools! My favorite spot is the garage. I keep it organized for my husband, also love my makita cordless power drill(it drills just fine thru concrete with the right bits) couldn't survive without it! There’s a special tool for sinking bolts into concrete. They have a load like a bullet in them that shoots the bolt right into the concrete.

Can you attach a plywood sheet to the back of the buffet and then use that to attach the shelves? It would also hide the wall and you could make the wood shorter than the window. Add a shelf to the top loke a window seal.

They sell it by the sheet,already painted,and come in thin plywood or a plastic laminate,(My friend lined her bathtub wall with it inside the shower.😵

The drawer bottoms look so flimsy! Even with the bracers supporting all four sides, I can see the middle eventually bowing and snapping in half. That's one reason I don't like bookcases with long shelves. They bow in the middle even if modt the weight is concentrated at the ends of the shelf. Each shelf should have support in the middle to help with weight distribution.

Well I can tell you that holding a screwdriver for 35 minutes non stop is a no Brainer. Try that with a 3 lbs drill.

Because the room is an unfinished basement room with no floor and only partial walls and a sump pump open to the air. I need the sheers to mask but also to allow air flow otherwise moisture and mold will be trapped. My items will be ruined, I ll get sick and tons of money will need to be spent on mold remediation.
