We as Californians may have pop up shops. But everyone else has the better goodwill and antique stores. Not to mention way way better prices. 😂😜😚🤗

I feel like this is why we watch KZbin. All of the store hauls are…well, anyone can go to a store and shop, but for those of us who like to DIY for fun and need more budget friendly options, having tutorials are so helpful! Inspiring and helpful. These items turned out so well! I would have never thought of doing “the dirt trick” on wood, but I love the results!

I also watch Lone Fox. Love these dupes and your process! You could dupe and sell these at craft shows etc… make lots of money and make some people REALLY HAPPY! This deserves a follow up or series! Or I’m just finding you as I searched for this particular store’s dupes and found yours! Hands DOWN WIN!

I’m subscribed to Drew & Macenna also. I love that Emily’s solution is “just smear some dirt and mud on it”. Dirt totally works ! Excellent dupes, very creative. Thanks for sharing. Can’t wait for the next one. ❤

I have never seen any project with wood painted with dirt! It turned out perfect. Nest time, try waiting til the object gets dry to rub it with dirt...maybe try dry dirt! Yours is still pretty.

I quite like both projects!!! If I may offer one tip, when you’re putting paper-mache on the outside of a bowl, draw a line around the bowl on parchment paper or whatever type of paper or plastic you’re using, make the line about 1” around the perimeter of the bowl and use that as your guide for the thickness of your sides. Using the paper it may not be necessary to make it an inch, but, follow that same thickness all over the bowl. Using a level, put it on the bottom of your dish and use it to level the bottom of the bowl before adding your ring. All in all, I think you did a pretty good job and like the colours when you were finished. Thanks for sharing.

I love how the dirt stain turned out for the wood!!! It’s the exact color I love but when I look for Inspo pictures can rarely find! For the bowl I wonder how it would have turned out if you used tea instead of plain water? And if you wanted a smoother finish you could sand it!

I absolutely love the vintage stools and again like you stated they are very expensive I priced them on Etsy and another bunch of other places and the prices are ridiculous so what I suggest that I did you can find stools now at thrift stores and habitat for humanity anywhere from 5 to 10 bucks.... all you have to do is just sand them down ...beat them up and then stain them and you have a vintage stool... and if they are too tall for you you can just cut down the legs ....so much easier ...we all don't have a husband who can build things .....just my advice 😊
