The DIY reflex punching bag finally broke so I made a better design/version - this video is it. Update: See my DIY channel transformed into a global brand producing the world's first modular cobra bag: kewlus.com/

Works great but a problem I found is with the 1” and 1 1/4” pvc it’s not as springy as I thought it would be but still great puncher

Yeah 3/4 inch pipe is best with a lighter ball
@huntingwolf202 ай бұрын
Been awhile since i made one. Found my old base in storage, still had the flange and the pipe, with the 1 and 1/4" inch PVC. I bout 3/4" PVC to make my pole earlier. Man I just think maybe the PVC is super thick here in the states, or something. 3/4" Pipe will barely flex when punched. I may have to try a 1/2" and just hope it doesn't break. I got 5 foot for $3 American so it isn't breaking the bank at least.

Great improvement! I can make one of these bad boys but I just need an umbrella stand. 😔

Check out this page to see how you can make a simple base without needing to buy an umbrella stand: www.fighterdiy.com/2020/05/diy-reflex-punching-bag.html

now mount that upside down to your ceiling, and you will have a reflex speed punching bag where you will be able to practice far more range dodging tchniques because you will be able to move in more directions without the reflex bag, base, and pole obstructing your way. thanks for the idea. cool job.

Great Videos! You should try making a Cobra Bag with a 40kg twister bar. I'd love to see how you would do that!

Thank you. I’ll definitely give that a go. 👌

After doing a little research I decided to use a 30kg twister bar with a light soccer ball. I just ordered the bar - should receive it later this month. Stay tuned bro!

u see if u buy the maxmma or ringside orrrr title boxing with the spring up top instead of the whole bar going down.

How to do you attach the pipe to the larger PVC pipe, would appreciate a post on this version of the bag on your website!
@Kewlus4 жыл бұрын
The method is the same as the way you attach it to the galvanised pipe - using a hose clamp: www.fighterdiy.com/2020/05/diy-reflex-punching-bag.html

Could you make a video on a more detailed version of this bag because I don’t know how to make the bottom part

Is the bottom PVC pipe stronger/harder than the part at the top? / does that bottom PVC pipe is moving too? Or is it stuck? And my English isn't that good sooooo, how long is that Metal Pipe which goes into the flange? Thanks for the nice video, I will rebuild it as fast as possible
@Kewlus4 жыл бұрын
Yes, the bottom PVC pipe is 1 inch diameter and the top is 3/4 inch. The bottom pipe is moving too, but it is much stronger so less likely to break. The steel pipe is about half the length of the bottom PVC pipe. If you use a longer steel pipe, the bag will be faster; shorter steel pipe will make it slower. About one foot is a good length for the steel pipe. For more details and to ask further questions, please go to www.fighterdiy.com/2020/05/diy-reflex-punching-bag.html - I'll answer them right away so you won't be waiting. Good luck with your build!!!

Hey boss man. So I’ve got all of the fixings to make this BUT I was wondering if using a pool noodle would be equally effective to use as a strike pad similar to the fiberglass version?
@Kewlus4 жыл бұрын
Yes absolutely! I no longer use balls but pool noodle pads now. You can make the target modular which is one of the biggest advantages
@aherosquest45364 жыл бұрын
Reedy Kewlus any chance you could comment on this umbrella base. It’s plastic based - so I’m taking a big risk on it working properly for stability or not. What do you think. www.google.com/shopping/product/17669420645983757476?q=umbrella+base+lowes&client=safari&hl=en-us&biw=414&bih=710&tbs=vw:l,ss:44&prmd=sivn&prds=of:1,epd:6255583304971230680,local:1,prmr:2,cs:1

I can’t say just from looking. My main concern with that one is the plastic nozzle. I d recommend a steel nozzle

how long does it hold up?

Really depends on the materials you use. I found the best is using a fishing rod for the mast which seems to last the longest and has not broken yet.

Is this the one you actually use from day to day? Which one of your designs has held up the best and is the best for training? This one seems to be the best. It also seems to make the least noise, which is good in an apt.

The one I use the most now has a fibreglass pole. I’m about to show it in a video this week. I’m planning to make this fibreglass pole available to buy. Stay tuned!
