Should I wash the fabric before sewing? Would it hold up to washing after completion for stains, etc?

It's always best to wash the fabric before you sew with them because they can also shrink etc. (I personally am however quite bad at that 😂). The bag can be washed I would just say to either hand wash it or put it on a very gentle cycle 💙
