This is really clear and helpful because I am trying to make a similar dress without a pattern- I will be using cotton though to stop the slippery nonsense! Xx

Glad it was helpful! In case you do consider using a pattern, this dress pattern is now available on my Etsy shop: www.etsy.com/listing/1448979870/ophelia-3-in-1-perfect-summer-dress

I love the fabric, the cut and everything. I'm definitely recreating that dress. 💜 Ps why didn't you add the lining in the skirt? Isn't it a see-through fabric?
@ThrillsandStitches3 жыл бұрын
Heya! Thank you, I‘m glad you like it 🎈 The fabric isn’t really see-through, or at least not as far as I can tell! I was contemplating adding a lining skirt just because technically you should but it is so much work 🙈
@alleimerb2 жыл бұрын
I agree it’s too much work to add lining, what you can do instead is invest in a slip / under skirt especially if you’re sewing a lot of dresses

Hi Elisa, love this dress!! Can I ask how much fabric did you use and was it a london fabric store you visited?
@ThrillsandStitches3 жыл бұрын
Hi Jackie, thanks so much! ☺️ I usually always buy 3 meters for designs with circle skirts (I am very tall). To be on the safe side, I would always buy half a meter more than you anticipate you’ll need. I remember with this one I used fairly all of my 3 meters of fabric. And yes, I bought the fabric in one of the shops on Goldhawk Road (I can’t remember which one though). Hope that helps 🤗

The end result was so beautiful!! Do you have any formal sewing training? I am just getting started sewing and making this dress seems daunting. Great video!
@ThrillsandStitches3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much Yocote! 💕 I went to a small fashion school for five years as a teenager so learnt all the basics there. Sewing is super intuitive but getting to a place where you like what you make might take time. I think all the tutorials available now can be a great help when learning it from scratch 🪡 I‘m sure you will be doing great ✨

Pls what type of fabric did you use?
@ThrillsandStitches3 жыл бұрын
It was some sort of polyester/synthetic fabric, not quite sure if it has a name! It is very silky and has a drape to it.
