I loved this design, clever yet simple to make! I love the way you dont waste anything and you make use of extra flaps and fabric that is already attached to make the finish so professional and clean! I am inspired to make this even though I am nearly 60! My mind is still 25 (best time of my life as I visited Aus and I had such a great time!) I am so glad that you are devoting all of your time to this now as I can see that you are just at the tip of your creative iceberg! Thank you!

The interfacing fabric is so much longer, because the top was taken in, I wonder how the ends look under the arm pit. Is there just bunches of fabric inside flapping about? The hardest part is always where lots of fabric meets ie the top hem, interfacing, shoulder pieces... help!

So stunning! If you don't mind requests, would a linen v-neck cami tutorial be possible? I feel like with summer coming up it'll be perfect 😊💕

Hi, following along, have sewn in my interfacing for the neckline, but unclear what to do with the edge that meets the underarm/side seam. Any tips on how to tidily sew those sides in? Thank you, loving how it looks so far, can't wait to wear it!

Hello dear!! Oh my goodness I absolutely love this one, can't wait to raid my dad's closet! Just a question about shirring - I also have a Janome and was wondering what stitch length and width settings you used for this material? I find it so tricky to find a good medium and find that either my shirring snaps because it's too tight or it just comes loose 😵💫

Hi Maddy! Love your vids ❤️ was just wondering if you have any advice as to how I could make this to wear with a regular bra (not about the strapless life)? I was thinking to just leave a couple inches spare when cutting off the collar, fit it to my body and add it on as a strap and then attach the gathered sleeve to that. Any suggestions would be great x

Hey ! New to TEC but obsessed! Definitely inspired 😊 with the farts that you put in this piece, did you cut the fabric off to clean it up or do you leave the fabric that’s in the dart there. Thank you!!

LOVE this tutorial!! Definitely going to try this xx just a wee question did you backstich your shirring and start new lines? Or did you lift the needle and turn around creating a long zig zag -if that makes sense? 💕
@TheEssentialsClub5 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much!! Yes I so get what you mean and probably should have explained this more. I backstitched and started a new line each time with the shirring but instead of completely cutting the line and having to pull out a new line and restart/waste that section I just shifted over and then cut all the excess off afterwards :) Hope that makes sense x x

When u were shirring around the sleeves did u stop at each end and start a new line or did you just keep continuously going around the arm 8 times? Thanks maddie

The Essentials Club I would love to see a tutorial on dresses and tops with a shirred bodice and puffy sleeves like the ones you see on reformation. Thank you so much! So hard to find sewing tutorials for modern looking clothes.

I hate anything with buttons on like shirts and blouses. Nothing personal but they look grotesque in my opinion. I can't wear them. But what you did was clever nevertheless.
