Keep the seams on the outside and use pinking shears because cleaning wet or used tea leafs is impossible from inside seams. When emptying for reuse turn bag inside out and empty and rinse then gang to dry on a teapot knob.

Ah, you can just do french seams. Problem solved

Great idea about keeping the seams outside and pinking the edges.

Wouldn't muslin be safer option than colored/printed fabric?
@Lorna-JWB8 ай бұрын
That was my concern. Can I find food safe or foodgrade fabrics that are this pretty.
@jenniec.69513 жыл бұрын
I recommend use natural fabrics lino,organic cotton,bambu,tocuyo and without stamps it could be dangerous because use sintetic colors

Hey sweetie I've got a pillowcase thats 100% cotton but its coloured and i was worried about using it, is there anyway to make it safe for use for teabags? I'd love your advice xxx

Good method, but it's irresponsible to suggest printed fabric can be used. The synthetic dyes WILL leech into the tea as it steeps. Unbleached organic muslin/cotton should be used.

Very cute idea. How do you wash them? Don’t the raw edges fray in the wash?
@HelloSewing2 жыл бұрын
Either wash them by hand or in the washing machine. The raw edges fray a bit but its not a problem. If it bothers you, you can simply make a new set in no time at all or just use french seams
@7ann7seven13 Жыл бұрын
open the inside seams and double stitch down. I think that is safer and will fray less.
