Hey Guys! This week I did the BEST Thrift Flip, and I made a reversible jacket out of a quilt that I found from Goodwill. I used french seams and will show you how to do everything so you can make your own quilted reversible jacket.

Nice recycle idea! I have used French seams to make reversible smock-aprons out of a single layer of double-sided fabric (gingham check on one side and polka dot on the other.)

That's a great idea!

Flat-felled seams would eliminate a lot of the bulk. (That is the type of seam you often see on jeans where there are two parallel lines of stitching and you don't see raw edges on either side of the garment - just an FYI for anyone who doesn't know what those are.) Nice work overall though. :)

Totally true! I wish I had known about flat felled seams when I made this video or else it would have been a much better option

Maybe clipping back the batting would make French seams less bulky. I will try this. Thanks for mentioning your impression of the seam during your process.

I really like what you did, its very cute. I made a repurposed quilt jacket for my daughter that turned out really well. Now, my niece wants one too but wants it reversible. I am researching all tutorials that I can find online.

One way to avoid the bulk would be to cut a sliver of the inside padding on both sides of the seam which would leave two thin layers of plain fabric to do the french seam
