That came out really nice . My rockers are rusted away ( upstate ny) so I'm replacing them with sliders .

I like your idea. It gives it more clearance as to just welding on a bolt on. Your idea looks to give WJ owners 2-3" in more clearance. I ight just do something similar to mine.
@killianjoseph3742 Жыл бұрын
It definitely adds clearance and because I used a 2”x8” tubing it sticks out far enough to help keep boulders from hitting the doors but if you wanted a more subtle lip you could use a 2”x6”. But it does also give you something to stand on as well if you’re using the wider tube.

Awesome design. I liked and subbed. If you never seen the paint " steel it" you should check it out. You can paint whatever you want and install it and also weld to the paint. You don't need to worry about the painting at the end like you did and the whole slider can be covered before installing. Great video 🤙

Thank you @ChicagoRc. It actually came out better than I expected. And it wasn’t too expensive. We really appreciate the like and sub. Let us know what else you would like to see on the channel! We’re always looking for fresh ideas and like to keep our viewers happy!

So what solution did y'all use for that taper? Thanks for this video. Didn't really want to pay someone $500+ for something i could do myself. I knew about the ZJ mid, and figured there HAD to be something similar i could do to the WJ.
@killianjoseph3742 Жыл бұрын
It ended up being a nonissue. It you follow that line straight back with the tape and keep the gap two inches from top to bottom the 2”x8”x0.188” tubing closes the gap between the body. The 3/16” (.188”) wall tubing it is sturdy enough to keep from flexing. Even under direct contact and hard hits. As long as you don’t use anything below 3/16” wall you should be good. If you decide to use 1/8” wall tubing I would slide a piece of 1”x1”x0.095” wall tubing in above the slider and weld it to the body. Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions. We’re happy to help.

Do you have any more details on how you tackled the curves in the body.
@AZWESTSIDEWHEELERS Жыл бұрын
We will be doing an update video soon. Not necessarily a how too but what we did. We cut fenders and built diy rear arms to fit 37’s😉😂. Lots more coming soon
@killianjoseph3742 Жыл бұрын
Sorry it took so long to respond 😬 Cutting along the body line that I chose actually worked out perfectly. It leaves the gap perfectly to slide the 2” x 8” tube in tight. The curves in the body are now just hollow space but is completely sealed after welding. I am going to add a few stiffeners behind the slider in another video coming soon. Be sure to check it out. Let me know if you have any other questions.

What’s your lift/tire size? Did you have to trim any sheet metal?
@killianjoseph37422 жыл бұрын
@Graystone 304 It’s a 4” Rough Country spring, 2” Rough Country spacers, Core4x4 control arms, Adams Driveshaft front shaft and ECCPP 2” Wheel Spacers. Fits a 32” Falken Wildpeak M/T without trimming. You will need to relocate the windshield washer fluid reservoir. (ZJ swap)

@@killianjoseph3742 how do we ask for this and where do we get it done 😂
@killianjoseph37422 жыл бұрын
@@dayblue_ Grab a cutoff wheel and find a buddy with a welder that you trust. Other than that, you just need to buy the tubing. It’s 2.000” x 8.000” 0.188”wall A500b tubing. It’s not super expensive. Whole thing cost me about $150. Go get em’!!!

To be fair, this is not a new vehicle. The modifications were not difficult and the results were worth the work and came out looking great in my opinion. If the threshold on you vehicle is in poor condition this would be a great solution.
