Just got your 4" long arm lift kit. Your stuff is really HD. It will be the strongest part of my Jeep. Now I am considering the frame stiffener once I rebuild my bank account.

The best source for WJ components. I wish I would have found you guys before I restored my 01. Both those Cross-member and Trasfercase shields are butt savers.

The fabled bottomless pit of JEEP accessories includes finally the WJ. Many of the WJ specific items offered on your site, are one of a kind. I wish I had a welder. The bolt on items selection is comprehensive as well. I am looking into the TK and TR shield and crossmembers specifically. I really really like the radiator shielding, again a welder would be great. Not a funky 120v home welder that blows the mains but a gasoline unit like amiller stick welder is all you need.

only problem i see is no primer between layers... must use weld thru primer... we have rust up north... thanks keep up the great videos

ok if you didnt paint the frame its going to rust? so did you paint or primer the frame?

We would typically use weld through primer in this application, and then paint or bedline the finished product.

Question: When test fitting my WJ IRO Frame Stiffeners on my 04 Overland, I noticed that the front overlaps with the factory lower control arm mount bracket plate. Should I cut that plate off, leaving on the mounted portion, before installing the stiffeners? I would assume so. I am confused by this, since the gentleman in the video stated it would work with the original control arm mount location intact. I will be installing a long arm kit shortly after, about 1-2 weeks (logistics are a bit of a nightmare right now). In the meantime I will need to drive the vehicle ~150 highway miles. How should I proceed?

Adding strength to your frame will improve how the WJ handles the weight.

@mikester9673 It will help strengthen the chassis. Towing ability depends on a strong chassis but many other factors as well.

Does anybody knows how thick the unibody is in the WJ center section ?

I just measured mine and it's about 1/8".

@blocksynathes It is less than 1/8" in some places. There are multiple layers in some spots and only one layer in other spots.
