I like that you kind of argue and fuss a bit ...like we all do! Makes it more realistic. lol It turned out great too! Use those thin CORK circle pads (or strips) that you can buy to put under lamps and such to prevent surface scratches. Then you can let it sit on the sink while traveling without worry. :-)

Congrats on your courage and project. Now seek out some folks with some woodworking skills before your next project and tap their brain. By the way, oak isnt the best food/cutting board safe wood being very porous and all, however, you could coat it with an epoxy or just keep it very clean. For those rubber legs, you could still mount them in a manner so that they hang into the sink yet help keep the boards to their proper edge. Ciao

Oil the edges and bottom, as well. If you don't, they will grow mold.....
