One of the BEST videos on a homemade sawmill. Very simple and well explained. I am in the process of building mine and it will look a lot like yours. My biggest challenge is the blade tracking. Still trying to get the best design that is not too complex and easy to adjust. Congratulations on your Mill and thanks for sharing.
@tinkertime71654 жыл бұрын
poochie49. Blade tracking is not that complex. Only one wheel is adjusted (one direction only is needed normally left right swing as you look at it from the front) then they both together need to be moved on the vertical axis to make sure the blade is level with the bed rails.

Love it man. Excellent design. Very simple and very effective. Thanks for sharing. I think I have some old golf cart frames I may be able to scrap the hub from. Love that adjustment technique.

Looks like we think very much alike amigo. Had a pile of parts waiting on health to let me build my mill and they look just like the parts you used. I do have parts for a bigger mill I want to build at some point but figured it better to go small on my first mill. Anyway, thanks for inspiration to get mine built. Been looking at the parts for years. :)

Thanks Mark. I’m wanting to build one of these. I’m searching for anything I have at the moment for the build. I think I have the tires and wheels off a trailer my dad gave me before he died. I’ve got some stuff that I hope I can use. I hope to do a couple videos of my progress. Thanks for sharing and God bless you.

Good job Mark! I built my own too one question every blade has set in it the teeth that are down on the tire do you find that it takes the set out of it? or did you grind a little groove so as the tire will not interfere with the inner blade set? You could take a white marker and trace where the blade runs and take a grinder and make a 1/8 groove this will eliminate this problem. On my little mill I used scooter tires which have a natural curve to them and the blade doesn't touch the inner set on my blades. I am still tuning it in. I built mine as well with all recycled material. I have a hundred dollars in it I bought new tires as the old tires were forty years old.

Nice build! Maybe you should consider making a guard cage for the blade and wheels for safety. It seems to work great! Might need an oiler for the blade too.
