Great idea! I did something similar when I lived in my apartment...made it look tufted and everything but I didnt use plywood...I used a canvas (for painting) and hung it on the wall instead behind the bed

Not sure how I got here on your vid. But I wanted to make a couple of suggestions. Stain your 2x4's to match the frame of your bed frame, if there is one or head board fabric. It makes everything cohesive.. Here you can get really creative. Also add a dust upholstery fabric to the back of the head board once all of your stapling has been completed This will give you a more clean and polished look. I love diy projects.... Good job!

One tip I learned when using spray adhesive is to spray some on both the foam and the wood and the two pieces will instantly stick together.
