@@jonathannguyen6472 Yes, making shims with a 2x12 will work just fine. The more slope, the better!

It would be WAYYYY more easier and cheaper to just add a few 2x4's on the side that it needs to be raised. Just loosen your screws that hold the roof lattice to the structure, lift, then slide your boards underneath on the 4" side to get your slope. Then screw everything back together! Super fast, a whole lot cheaper and a lot less work to get something like this done

@@davids5006 it's exactly what i did this past week. I only had to purchase two 12' 2x4's and that was it. It took a few minutes to loosen the screws, a few minutes getting the 2x4's in place, and then a few mins re-screwing everything back. Turned out amazing! I wish they would post a video of this option on their channel as only showcasing 1 idea inadvertently makes it seem like it's the only way lol

Won't that cause the polycarbonate sheets to bow and be mostly flat for half the run? The way the video describes seems more precise.

What’s the best way to secure the shim to the rafters? I’m going up 12 inches on one side using 2x12x14. Seems like brackets would work best. I’m needing to increase slope for polycarbonate panels. Thoughts?
