Awesome work. Love that you did it for almost nothing. Great build video. This will help a lot of people. For the slappies it is all about your angle in and speed. Make sure the box is secure. You are going to hit it with a lot of force, you don't want it to move under you. Stay Rad Sir.
@AJStarch2 жыл бұрын
I’m probably not committing with enough speed… but my driveway is rough enough that the box doesn’t move when I hit it.

@@AJStarch did you see the video where I learned slappy 5050s? It is the Brand X slappy video. Slappy nose slide is a fun one two. I have one video on that shoes allllllll the work and time put in. But now they are comfortable warm-up trick. Big fan of the slappies. Give them another go.

@@AdventuresInSkateboarding I haven’t seen it but I’ll definitely go check it out, thanks for the tip!

@@AJStarch the nose slide you can go slow to figure it out. The 50-50 needs speed.

@@AdventuresInSkateboarding just watched your video… I think learning the nose slides first may help with the slappies so I’ll work on those this week.

Nice man. I’m going to try this. Getting back into skateboarding at 37 and this would be great to have at the house. Keep it up man!

Cool! I definitely wish I hadn’t waited so long to get back into it! If I was to build this again I’d want it to be at least a foot longer and I’d make the slappy side a little less steep. Good luck and thanks for watching!

Hi AJ possible to share the dimensions of the plywood before you glue and screw it together?
@AJStarch Жыл бұрын
Sure it was 25” x 67.25” x .75” I just used a piece I had left over from another project, the dimensions don’t have to be exact. Thanks for watching!

Love the Pad though! Been debating building one like this or DIYing a slap stick like Keen makes

Yeah, I still feel it every time I rewatch that clip… so I don’t watch it very often! 🤣

If I was to make it over I’d make it a foot longer and put a little more slope to the slappy side to make learning them easier. I’ve been thinking about making a new rail and converting my old one to a Keen style slappy stick for that reason. Thanks for watching!

Great video! I'm trying to build this same thing but with a six foot chain link fence post. What tools did you use for the t-slots?
@AJStarch2 жыл бұрын
I just use a drill to make holes in a T shape and then connect them using an angle grinder and/or files.

treat the curb like a quarter pipe to slappy, just ramp it in there like you are goin up the side and then as soon as the wheel gets on top of the curb transfer your weight. easier on shorter curbs when learning but can be done on any curb
@mauric69432 жыл бұрын
What's your estimate on the weight of the box? I may have missed it in the video. I'd need to move in and out of the garage with each use.
@AJStarch2 жыл бұрын
Mine probably weighs about 110 lbs, give or take. I can easily stand it up on end and then use a small two wheel dolly to move it in and out of my garage.
@mauric69432 жыл бұрын
Wow! I guess I shouldn't be surprised since a full sheet of plywood is 60-70lbs I think Thanks!!
