If you want to follow this video and make a dress like this just keep in mind that the length is 85cm, not 65 as I wrote in the video. And also total length of the fabric is 1.2m not 1m.

I've watch other youtuber sewing in the elastic bands for the riffle effect. But they are so hard to find rn. Thanks for showing us this option. Will look for elastic thread instead! 😂

It’s also an option to sew the elastic bands but the way with elastic thread is so much easier🌸

Hi Anna, I followed your instructions and measured and cut out 65cm but it seems as if it is too short because there wasn’t enough material for me to do the bodice. I was just wondering if it was actually a longer length than 65cm?

Ohhh I just realized that I made a mistake with the measurements in the video, there should be 85cm. But If you cut 65 that’s not a problem just add 20cm extra and attach it to the skirt, the stitch won’t be visible because there is shirring.

It is a one piece dress the “bodice” part is shirred/smocked and the “skirt” part is just left alone. There is no attaching

You can see at 5:41 that she is marking out 34 cm which is the length of the “bodice” part she is only going to Shirr/smock up to this line (horizontally)

Yes, for sure it can be a maxi dress as well! Instead of my length which is 85, measure how long you want your dress to be and use that measurement
