Looks real nice, you could put 10 to 20 psi of air in tank to check for leaks. Pinch off hose to heater.

Excellent videos. Getting out treehouse at the end of the month. Can you show more details on what you are doing for the kayaks on the roof? Thanks for the detailed videos!

I have 4 rhino rack HD bars attached to the built in track system (any standard roof bars will work on the track system that comes with the treehouse) and have them mounted upside down, strapped down using regular kayak tie down straps.

Cool stuff! I have been looking at that same heater kit, is there anything that would prevent someone from installing the tube that runs into the tank through the cap using the same fittings that come with the kit? Then just running the tube itself to the bottom of the tank, seems like a different connector would be necessary to do it that way??
@PrestonGladd4 жыл бұрын
You could definitely do that, and it probably will be easier than the way I ran it. You can also use any tank you want, you don’t have to use the tank that comes in the kit. All you would have to do is just drill out the cap the only thing that you have to worry about is pressure relief because that Is a pressure relief cap so is designed where it will release air pressure so you may want to drill into the top of the body and not the cap Itself.

The only question I have, why not tap into the truck fuel tank for the heater? Other than the minor risk of running your prime mover out of fuel on an extended stay, I don't see much of a downside.

The main reason is just time and effort. I plan to eventually, but it’s a fairly major undertaking and I have not had time.

Hey Glad! We like what you're doing and it's giving us some great ideas as we are preparing for a trip to AK from CO. We've had our eyes on the Treehouse and GFC for a couple of years. Has the Treehouse been worth it? Has it performed as you'd hope? Update: just saw your post below and definitely going to contact SO later this week.

Have called and emailed snap, no response. Website states, no longer accepting orders due to the virus. I believe they may have gone out of business or are in the process of closing shop.

If you send them a message on Facebook they should reply, I just talked to the operations manager. They have currently suspended production but they do hope to resume it in the near future. Most of this is a result of COVID

If you’re looking for something in the near term I would look at one of the other companies because they probably will not be back up and running with the product being completed at least for the next 8 months If I had to guess

@@PrestonGladd yes very sad, I really thought after looking at others that they had the best product. As for Facebook, I don’t have or want anything to do with them, but that’s just me.

With respect... You have cycling electric motors, flame sources, high pressure flammable gas and diesel in a place you're sleeping, all subject to shakes and vibration. If anything shakes loose, breaks loose or pops, you'll be living in a fireball.
@PrestonGladd4 жыл бұрын
Also have firearms, a Diesel engine, I’m sleeping above a 33 gallon diesel tank, and a helicopter could fall out the sky and kill me too. After fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan and spending 20 years in the military, I was constantly in environments identical to this and never had a problem, so for me I’m comfortable with the risks. I also have carbon monoxide detectors, smoke detectors, two each, and a fire extinguisher to mitigate risk. I also have nine windows, a fantastic fan, and multiple holes in my bed so airflow is at a maximum and there will be no build up of any type of accelerant. If you’re uncomfortable with it that’s completely fine, but if I can drive around with C4 and HEDP rounds while getting shot at, and sleep next to hundreds of pounds of ammo each night, I am comfortable with this set up. It’s a vehicle based platform, you’re sleeping on a ball of mechanical parts and petroleum based products, its just how it is.
