I remember when this video originally came out and I showed my dad this and we decided to make it alittle summer project together. My father passed away in 2020 from cancer and when we were cleaning out the garage i dug up that wood press for the snowboard we never made. I recall him asking me multiple times through out the years when we’re gonna finish up that snowboard but I kept on putting it off. I now realized don’t think he cared about the board, he just wanted to spend time with me. Cherish your old man, he may be gone sooner than you know.

to keep the foam from sticking during layup you can add one or two layers of baking parchment between the board and the foam to keep it from bonding. It won't be as thick then. I tried it in some tests when trying to build my own board for ideas to keep the board from sticking to the wood press. Backing parchment works perfectly.

usually you add another sheet of glass on top of the wood, but otherwise that's more or less it.
