I really appreciate all the hard work you put into these videos, Johnny. I’m doing my own DIY installation, and many of your videos have been super helpful to build confidence and do a professional job. Just today I looked up your clips video and found my local electrical supply has all three of the clips you suggested. I’m also using a mast head cable entry which I picked up from you and Engineer775. The cable pulling video was also very helpful and my family and I had some fun pulling our own wires in. Keep up the great work!

I'm putting an MC4 PV disconnect on my array rack, then feeding that into a DIN rail terminal block in a blank junction.

Jajaja, got confused himself with the Isolator Wires..!

Do you always place two location IMO disconnect at the panel and outside the house. Do place your DC breakers inside the house.

Good video... do you run an EGC (Not GEC) conductor back to "Home" with the PV wires?
@GainSolarPower Жыл бұрын
I do.

Any down side to running pv wire all the way to the inverter / mpp charger all in one unit? My run is less then 100 feet.

Hard to pull. More expensive.

But we’ve done it a few times

What is the largest THHN wire the IMO will take? Will 8 gage wire work?
@GainSolarPower2 жыл бұрын
I don’t know the largest size off the top of my head but I routinely wire in #8 and it fits. I’d say it will definitely fit a #6 as well

Larry have you purchased your inverter batteries solar materials yet?
@lancefaure39452 жыл бұрын
Per NEC wires in underground outdoor condit are in a wet location (see definition of dry, damp, and wet locations). THHN wire is NOT rated for use in wet (but OK for dry, damp) locations. It must be THWN. And you are an electrician?
@GainSolarPower2 жыл бұрын
Yea I am. Pardon my electrical speak. It’s cross listed wire you stickler. I don’t think I’ve ever even seen straight THHN it all says THHN/THWN-2 MTW blah blah.
@lancefaure39452 жыл бұрын
Yeah you did say it was cross listed THWN. But you kept saying THHN. Just making sure your viewers who read the comments know the difference.
