We live in North east Florida and we love it. Lots of rivers, lakes and beaches to enjoy and today is a beautiful 73 degrees!! My parents moved here in the 70s from New England and they loved it! ❤

North East is that near Sarasota? I have looked in a lot of areas but the cost of homes is so high. I am not giving up I will hopefully find a area, do you know if the house median is high in your area?

Live in North Central Flordia. Gainesville area. Love it! From CT and do not miss the cold weather! You'll live it here. The cost of living is similar to the North. House prices are not much lower than the North. I rent because of the cost of houses. But I don't mind not owning a house. Have so much more freedom. Hope that helps! Love the truck!!!!

Sarasota is southwest Florida. We live out in the country in between Jacksonville and Gainesville. Honestly, you can find a house in many different price ranges…. Depending on the size of the house and land. Our neighbors sold their 3 bedroom-2 bath on 5 acres for @300k. But we are out in the country

Thank you ❤😊 Gainesville isn't that pretty close to Orlando if I remember correctly. I looked at houses and I think the prices are much higher then here in NY. My price range is really out of range for the median housing cost. Even renting is quite high, the struggle is real. I won't give up I will continue to keep looking. Santa Rosa or Escambia Counties are great the cost of living is actually lower than south Florida and the beaches are beautiful!

I am a Florida native and highly recommend the Jacksonville area. Jacksonville sits in a little curve that keeps the “bad” hurricanes away from us. We may get strong tropical winds, but that’s about it. However, there is ALWAYS something going on here. It’s a huge city and it’s always a fun place to be. We’re already back in the 80’s. I wouldn’t trade my heritage for anything. Come on down for a visit sweet friend and I’ll show you around. ❤❤ Great video.

Love them all! The birds on the candle sticks and the bicycle are my favorites. Thinking on moving to Florida myself. I’m done with winter, snow and ice in mass. My niece lives in Boca Raton. My sister is looking around the del Ray, lauderdale, boynton beach area to be near her daughter in Boca. My brother lives in Port St. Lucie on the water. Loves his boat! A friend of mine just bought a real nice mobile home on the west coast down in Naples. Love Florida! Maybe next year will be my turn!!

I really enjoyed the video, however, the truck 🛻 was my favorite. Florida is a beautiful place and tropical. Anywhere we live there are good and sometimes bad in the areas we just need to pick our battles. I was born and raised in Biloxi, MS. It is right along the coast of the Gulf of Mexico. Beautiful area and yes the downside is during hurricane season as with all the coastal areas. Go north you have snow and ice to deal with. So again do your studies and take the plunge to fine your happy place. Good luck.

Hello, Florida Native here..5th generation from Manatee County but I live in North Port now. North Port is the largest town in Sarasota County...land wise. Population is smaller but, growing like crazy these days. Its still a lot cheaper than being in the main Sarasota area & Bradenton (Manatee County). Sarasota has many cities or communities...there's Sarasota city & area, Nikomos, Venice, Welland Park & North Port (most southern) If you have any questions, I'll be glad to help. Hey! I enjoyed the video. I dig the birds and that bicycle one. Those are my favorites. Won’t be long now and we’ll be planting in our gardens. I live in Utah and we’ve gotten a lot of rain and snow this fall and winter. I’ve not complained as we’ve needed it from being in a drought for several years. Love all your projects, definitely feeling that spring. I moved from Florida to East Tennessee & love it. As far as the cost of living/moving, every place has its ups & downs, you adjust to your surroundings. Also depends on what part of Florida you want as far as expense

@Craftastic DIYS taxes are higher, that was hard to get use to. I was born/raised in Florida. Don't live close to the beach & prices are better. I lived in Lakeland which is between Tampa & Orlando. I could still get to the beaches, amusement parks, really anything but without the higher prices. Florida is really beautiful & also HOT. 😁 Keep looking, research & don't give up. We set a time & stuck to it. Good luck.

Yes the winters in the Northeast are horrible. The hurricanes in Florida don't usually hit every area, your pretty safe inland. My niece lives in NC its ok but she Wants to move to Florida. Take a trip to FL show your husband how beautiful it is 😊

I live in Louisiana and we never really have winter here. But summer is way too hot. Florida is nice. We go there often to the nice beaches. I’d like to move too but undecided where I’d like to go….definitely don’t want to go where it’s always cold and snowing. Good luck with whatever u decide to do.

Your projects were absolutely wonderful! IMHO Spring can't get here fast enough! I moved to the PNW from the Midwest almost 20 years ago. Aside from the occasional freak ice and snow storms it's not too bad weatherwise, as I don't really like extremes in either direction but my disdain for extreme cold is what made me move here. Yeah the winters are wet and gray but sometimes we get those nice 50 degree sunny days in the middle of winter and it's absolutely delightful.

We would move to Florida but I'm tired of hurricanes. Originally from New Orleans. Florida is beautiful and warm and sunny but like I said I'm tired of hurricanes. I lived in Tampa for awhile and loved it. Now in Virginia and with my chronic pain I need warmer weather.

Try North Florida people are friendly & helpful. I live in Lake City probably you would call it a small town we are close to Jacksonville about 60 miles & about 2 hours from Tallahassee. I grew up here after I married in 970 we moved to Perry FL near Gulf Coast about 25 miles from coast. We have warm to hot weather most of the year but do have frost & some cold days around freezing. Lots of fishing & hunting opportunities if that interests you. If you use Spanish moss in your DIYs you will never have to buy it anymore. Bring it in from your trees & pop in the microwave for a few seconds it will kill the red bug that live in it & you are good to go. Come south & craft with me!

Mobile, Alabama we dont have much of a winter either. Gets to hot in the summer though. We get maybe a inch of snow maybe every 5 years. So far this winter I think weve had maybe 3 times when temp dropped below 30.
