Hello Sorry for the late response. It is still holding up good. We drained it and did one more coat of the epoxy. Everything is good

So you recommended 3 coats of epoxy?
@barbsf74442 жыл бұрын
No we only did 2 coats

Thanks for the vid! Pond shield's video recommend to remove the seam sealant before applying the epoxy. I notice you guys didn't. Did you have any mayor complications by not removing the Joint Selant?
@barbsf74442 жыл бұрын
No we did not have any particular issues in that are with application or afterwards.

Hi! I’ve been researching how to prep my stock tank pool. How did the epoxy hold up after a summer of use?
@barbsf74443 жыл бұрын
Hello, sorry for the late response. the epoxy held up well. On the sides where there are ridges some of it did flake off. We drained it, lightly sanded it and re did the epoxy. Going well on the 2nd summer

I seen Gabrielle video also. I used the pond shield but by the end of summer it has started rusting. It started out as little black dots almost reminded me of pepper. I'm planning on redoing it in the spring. Maybe the chlorine was a bit to much or maybe I should have done 3 coats of pond shield. I only bought 1 package of it and that gave me 2 coats. But when I redo in the spring I am going to sand it then paint the inside then reapply the pond shield. Has yours started rusting at all?
@barbsf74444 жыл бұрын
Hello there, it has not rusted at all. It has some rough areas because how I applied it. Im thinking of doing a video of it soon.

I am looking to make a stock tank into a pond with the Pond Shield. Did you just sand the fluted areas by hand and wipe down with vinegar? I understand using the palm sander on the flat surfaces. I was just wondering about the 'wavy/bumpy/non-flat' areas.
@barbsf74444 жыл бұрын
Ellee Hunter-Jones yes that is correct, fluted areas where done by hand and the rest with the sander. I vacuumed all residue, THEN I wiped down with vinegar.

Where do I buy and find (what to ask for) to get the epoxy stuff and instructions for the pool tanks? We just got out today and I want to get to the store to get the epoxy started this weekend.

Hey! How has this held up and did you use apply self-etching primer? I see the instructions for the Pond shield epoxy says to use one and I'm looking for a recommendation / if it's required.
@barbsf74443 жыл бұрын
Hello! For that we used the vinegar before painting with the paint. (Sand, the etch with vinegar, dry, and then paint)

Hello and thank you for this video. Question..does your pool have a line down the middle(where welded together)? Mine does and the caulk or whatever they used is coming off. Do you know what I can use to replace?
@barbsf74444 жыл бұрын
I would know exactly what to use, but mine did have the line in the middle. I believe the pond shield also serves as “caulking” for protection so I would say maybe use that and see if it works... Sorry im not much help on that!
@bearlygameimg22033 жыл бұрын
Most of the stock tank companies sell a product to recaulk that seal!

Thanks for posting! It doesn't look like you primed the inside with self etching primer after sanding and vinegar -- did that work well?
@barbsf74444 жыл бұрын
Blake Triplett hello and thanks for your question! No we did not use the self etching primer spray. We were debating to use it since all the videos we watched recommended to use it. When we got the instructions for the pond shield it did not advice to use self etching primer. It only stated to etch with white vinegar after sanding. And thats what we did. It did work well for us, the pond shield was very easy to apply. We have not had a problem, the only thing I would recommend doing different than us is placing the pump first then applying pond shield because of the metal possibly scratching your work.
