I remember making these with the colorful plastics as a child. There was even the Chinese staircase that twirled around. Using this design with fabric is brilliant :)

I used to make key chains like that during summer camp. Who knew that would actually be useful! Beautiful!
@angiedj6210 жыл бұрын
I stumbled onto this while youtube surfing and I can't wait to try it. I'm glad I already know how to do the box knot. I would have never thought to do it with fabric. Now I know what I can do with that bag of tee shirts that are taking up space in my closet. Thanks for the idea.

And here I was thinking making a necklace would be hard. This has opened my eyes to so many possibilities. Thanks =)!

It's like making a basic box stitch with lanyard but with fabric!! Cool!! I wouldve never thought to do something like this... really good!!
@acrystalbyrd12 жыл бұрын
Oh cool! That process is the same as braiding those lanyard key-chains everyone used to carry in elementary and middle school. I loved making those! (I don't know if you all did over there but in the US it was pretty popular) That is such a cute idea! Thanks Shirley :)
@remixedv12 жыл бұрын
This video reminds me of summer camp as a kid. Loved making those keychains. You could make all the styles. Great Video.

About five or six years ago I learned how to make "scooby doos" (as they were called), and I love that this is exactly the same method, only being used to make something so clever! Thank you for this lovely tutorial- it was clear, concise, and you obviously put a lot of effort into making sure it came across that way. Well done to you! The necklace turned out brilliantly, and I'm so excited to try it myself- I've so many scraps of fabric from old DIY jobs that had no use until now! xo

its like those lanyards kids made when they were younger... you just loop any piece over the base and loop the one across from it over the base too. then you are doing the same with the other two pieces but sticking it over the first piece they encounter and under the second. it sounds way harder when you read it but doing it is simple and quite fun!
@gypsygypsygypsyism12 жыл бұрын
