Well... I wrote my own VU meter with ONE 1m WS2812Bx144 led strip, a couple of resistors, an arduino (and the FastLED lib), a stereo jack input thingy from Ali, and a few coding skills. It does not have a case, it does not have standby animations, it does not have insane infinite mirror effect, it doesn't even have speakers, sound or batteries, but fsck, am I ever proud anyway :) This channel is so inspirational.

The case and the led setup isn't actually that expensive or difficult to get going if you play around with leds a bit. The double mirror effects aren't expensive either (at least not everywhere, you can get acrylics and mirrors pretty cheap here but if I go over the border it's almost 10x more expensive :@) But all the pretty high end audio gear, that'll set you back a couple K's I bet.

That has seriously got to be the most badass and labor intensive subwoofer build that I have ever seen...100% it literally puts ALL of these other DIY bluetooth speaker/boombox/stereo blah blah blah builds here on KZbin to absolute shame. This one here, this beauty, is absolutely incredible!!! Now I wanna build one...but lack the patience to do so, I'd just end up paying someone to build it for me in the end.
