You did it backwards. Rocks should be at the bottom of your filter and the white material should be on top.

Nagh. The unfiltered water is coming into the top & out the bottom. The largest particles get trapped in big rocks, then the gravel, then sponges and finally the finest particles get trapped in the sponges & floss. Then clean water into the pool.

No its not. The principle is same as in big AQUARIUMS. Difference is, that in pools you dont need benifitial bacteria to broke down amonia. In pools you use chemicals. Rock go on top to keep big particals, then sand and after is filter wooll, and you will have cristal clear water. OFC you need to put chemicals too, but its lot better filter then ones with paper carthige, (can't even compare)

This is the smartest video I've seen yet! I'm going to try to use a metal pot instead of the plastic 5 gallon bucket so this way I can put a small fire under it to warm the pool while it's being filtered! Use rocks in the bottom and white filter fiber on top! Think it will work?

I made the filter in September. Used it about 10 times until October. Washed it once and stored it. I’ll use it again in June.
