If you blanked out the player, and just looked at the stats and gave the award to the player with the best output, the stats belonging to Lamar are clearly the more valuable. Lamar is currently the MVP. HOWEVER, if you are into narratives, voter fatigue etc, they'll probs give it to Allen as it's more interesting than basically saying "Yep, the best player last year, is still the best player this year" its easier for the media to write about, easier for the NFL to post about on socials etc. But Lamar is outplaying Allen currently and its not that close, especially when you compare which teams the majority of their stats came against

AD actually could have broken Dickerson rushing record that year too. He was under 10 yards from breaking it and they kicked the field goal on the 17 to win the game.
