I love your Dollar Tree makeovers. I always have to laugh about the short legs. Imagine if you bought a real dining table and you saw those proportions when it was delivered! The color is spot on for my taste, and your painting/staining techniques are so helpful. Thanks as always!

Thank you so much for all the kind words! That's a really funny thought. Imagine buying a table that's a foot too short. I know these pieces of furniture are cheap, but come on. We need an extra inch of leg.

How serendipitous, I also have that same Dollar Tree table, only I need to make the legs shorter for a conference table at 28 mm scale. I was going to saw them off, but your microwave idea (I followed the link) to soften the glue has inspired me to replace them with new and better legs instead. Thanks for all the great tips you give us!

On the table top you could add those wood grain streaks, like you did in the dresser video. I saw this table in the dollar store and didn’t think of changing it from an oval to a rectangle by just placing some rectangle chip board on top. Thanks for the idea!

That's a great idea! Those streaks would make it look more wood-like. My pleasure :) TinyKeyholeMinis made this table into an antique style coffee table. Huge transformation. kzbin.info/www/bejne/a3mXZWVnjKuib9k&feature=share8

Thank you! I always struggle with background music and what loudness to choose etc. I hate when music overwhelms a video and makes it difficult to enjoy listening to the voiceover. I'm like you where I prefer to eyeball things and get it "close enough" rather than carefully measuring and worrying about precision.

Yes, fingers are a useful tool! I looked around quickly for a paper towel and no dice so I had to just rub the paint away. I always look for dollhouse furniture whenever I go to the Dollar Tree. They're $1.25 now so I'm glad I stocked up before the price increase.

I know I commented on one of your other videos that we can't find those wooden dolls house furniture in our dollar stores in my country...BUT!!! yesterday I managed to find one sad and lonely little wooden dressing table. You have no idea how excited I was to find it! (well maybe you do lol) But already my mind is whirling with ideas of what to do with it and where to use it! Who knew cheap dolls furniture would be the highlight of my day? Lol. One question about this tutorial, what thickness is the matboard you used? I was going to buy some but it was in a bunch of different thicknesses and I didn't know which one would be best to get
@queencityminis Жыл бұрын
That's great! My video that's premiering today shows how to make the dresser using cardboard. I put the dimensions for making it out of wood in the description. I didn't even know matboard comes in different thicknesses. 4 ply (1/16" thick) is what I use. You can go to a local framing store (Michael's craft store for me) and ask for their scraps. They'll just give them away.
