I finally did it with my Sea themed soap using the tear drop technique plus embeds of a little fish and seahorse! I finally won the Grand Prize 1st Place in the Advanced Category with the International Soap Challenge Club! WOAH!!! I had a very busy month, so I was only able to make two attempts at this design (the other will be posted later). I hadn't even cut the first attempt before trying this one, but both designs came out great! You really have to know your recipe, how well your batter behaves, as well as how fragrances and colors change that behavior. I went with a super well behaved fragrance as well as colors that I knew would not speed things up. This is definitely one of those designs where you don't know exactly what you'll get until you cut it open. You can make the best of plans. . .but you still have to hope for the best! I was especially concerned when adding the embeds because I was worried they would shift the teardrop over. Thankfully the fluidity of the batter did not cause that to happen. I feel that if the batter had been thicker, I would have had more problems.
For my projects, I typically use Micas and Fragrances from Nurture Soap, Bramble Berry, Essential Depot, and Wholesale Supplies Plus.
