I did this in December when I baught the MYLR. I recommend dioing it when it is warmer and the stuff is more flexible and easier to stretch. Eric is great. His youtube instructions are very helpful. btw I was 80 years old when I did this myself.

We bought a model y in early 2023 and justified not using PPF in part to your video about not needing it (not blaming you at all, just saying your video was part of a decision making process). Fast forward to 16 months later and I really wish I had just done the front of the car. It's white, so every Little Rock chip is glaring with the plastic underneath it being black 😅 Tesla has .99% and some hinged inventory discounts on late '23 seven seaters and we took the plunge. Trading in our y with 40k on the odo and coming out with a similar car payment (boy does point of sale credit feel good!). Thinking of hitting it with vinyl to change the color since we aren't too keen on black and then PPF over just the front. Anyway, thanks for the detailed video. My biggest concern with installing myself is not having a garage, and it's pollen season lol. Maybe I can bribe the neighbor. Really want to reduce stuff getting under it as best as possible; I know it won't be perfect as I can't even manage that with a phone screen protector lol.

Thanks for the great video! Did this to my MYLR over a three week period. They say to give it two weeks to let the moisture dry out under the film before trying to pop the bubbles. Some do go away on their own. The air bubbles were the biggest problem, but, look fine now using the needle. I'm going to use a ceramic coating over the ppf after I finish with the doors and the a-pillers. Love your channel!

Great job describing the process including things to watch out for. I think I'll let the pros do mine. But at least I have a good idea what they will be doing and what I should check when picking up my car. Didn't Tesla just announce that they are coming out with "self healing" wraps. No idea what "self healing" means but I like the sound of it (but not their price).

Self healing is a trait of all PPF. Small scratches will disappear in the sun. Thanks for watching!

Looks very nice. I think you were too hard on yourself, given that it was a first try. Did you do anything for any of the paint chips? How did the chips look with the PPF applied? I am a little concerned that these flaws will be greatly magnified because of the way your minor "dust" particles showed through the PPF. All the best with your future videos. (Would be really curious as to how easy the removal of the hood piece is when you redo it).

I tell you one thong for everything they did still seems cheaper then my visits on gas cars to Firestone. I Felt like they charge $800 just to show up. So you would probably pay over 6K for any gas car with that milage with all the mooving parts. I love teala and I actually Trust their estimate much more than any dealer.. Dealers try to screw you the minute you walk in and than their service department is also like a seles department it is all about higest monthly numbers.
