❣ I am so pleased with how this turned out!! My new favorite prop!!!
I used this for a Stevonnie cosplay so I might call it the Stevonnie shield once or twice in the video. But, its Rose's; thus it's Steven's; thus it is also Stevonnie's.
❤ SUBSCRIBE to my channel » / axcelerationcosplay
Correction: I do believe i misspoke and said 'her' a few times throughout this series. Yes, I know Stevonnie's pronouns are they/them. Honest slip up. Please stop being overly aggressive about it. I can't go back and edit it. Just acknowledge, that I acknowledge I slipped up and lets move forward. Thank you!

You're a lifesaver! I've been cosplaying Rose Quartz for a few years, but have never found anything that would would work for the shield that did't look tacky, or didn't cost hundreds of dollars.

Flatback pearls might hold better than true round ones! And the cool mint flowers you bought are faux Hydrangea! Very cool project! I've never seen Steven Universe, but I love your version of the character - looking at the stills you added to the video. Thanks for this awesome tutorial! I'm planning on getting into worbla and other heat moldable plastics in the future so all these great videos give me wonderful tips! Have you ever used barge cement with worbla or the plastic used in this video?Thanks!

Oh my god this is exactly what I've been waiting for. I've never seen a tutorial for a Rose/Steven/Stevonni shield that was actually transparent. As soon as I saw your sword build I thought "this lady's going to have a great shield tutorial." And you do! I'm so glad to know I can just heat plexiglass with a heat gun. I was thinking along these same lines, but thought I'd have to use special plastic meant for vacuum forming. And the invisible arm bands are really the icing on the cake! Thank you thank you!!

Hi! Im soooo Glad I found your video and hope to cosplay rose quartz this march and really wanted to pop! with the extras like her sword and shield but I have a quick question do you believe that this would work with a thin like clear worbla? I have some and live in a rural area where I don't even know resin so I was wondering if that would work? Love your work and pls do more DIY's for cosplay!

Why didn’t you use Worbla TranspArt instead of plexiglass? It being a malleable thermoplastic, wouldn’t it have been easier?
@AxcelerationDesigns
@AxcelerationDesigns 6 жыл бұрын
Worbla isn't nearly as strong as plexiglass. It would've been flimsy. Clear worbla is also kind of warped. It doesn't look 100% clear

Would the fumes do anything bad to your body ?
@KittyLover2772
@KittyLover2772 6 жыл бұрын
When heated, plastic releases chemicals such as BPA and phthalates, which are endocrine disruptors, something that messes with your hormone system. Many can affect the estrogen and testosterone levels in people, which in *extreme* cases causes infertility (inability to get pregnant/weaker sperm count) and can lead to problems with fetuses. Something like this project should be fine, just be in a well ventilated area and wear a face mask and eye protection. On a more general note, never heat up anything in plastic (for the same reason as above) and pay attention to the numbers in the little recycling system: 3 and 7 are the worst for you. It's also terrible for the environment and takes 500-1000 years to biodegrade. Be safe!
@AxcelerationDesigns
@AxcelerationDesigns 6 жыл бұрын
If you do it often or work in an environment that does it every day then yes, it's very dangerous for your body. But doing it every once in a while for a cosplay or craft project like this is totally fine.
@AxcelerationDesigns
@AxcelerationDesigns 6 жыл бұрын

The tutorial is awesome I love it but I am a perfectionist and a little wierd so I cringed in the beginning as you traced the tray so far away from the edges of the plate... I would have measured about 2.5inches away from the edges and then traced it but it is just me crying when ever I "waste" even the minimum of my materials xD
