DIY Treadmill Green Screen: Tips and Tricks for Building and Painting

Did you find that the paint rubbed off as you walked on it? And have you come across any other problems since you made this video?

The paint has not wore off the rubber band. But the plastic parts of the treadmill has a few scratches now. I guess you have to paint it again after a while. Just for maintenance

If you put trackers on the rolling mat of the tread mill you will easily be able to track your footage just use blue and make em small +

Hi, thanks for the video. We need to do something similar but my concern is the change of the traction on the tread-belt. because we intend to ask women to walk on this treadmill wearing highheels if the surface becomes more sleepery it could be a big safety hazard. My question is did you have significant change on the traction of the treadbelt after painting it over?

How long did the paint lasted? Before it peeled off?

I did use it for a total of 10 hours and the color on the conveyer still lasts ;)

how did you sync foot and where you get the ground footage

The ground footage is a image that I looped so it looks like its moving. The syncing is done by calculating the pixel/sec it takes for a foot to move from a position to another. This all sound complicated so I think that it's a good topic for a tutorial =)

​@CapVFX you could just motion track the footage by putting Blue + signs on the green rolling mat of the tread mill and key the blue out as well

That way you can actually track all your footage as one shot looks cleaner and less choppy But I love what you did here sir amazing work I'm gonna try it and use it in some stuff my self thanks for the big brain move :D

Did you realize you can open the motor hood by those Phillips screws and unplug the connector from the board and save the hassle of a wire repair. Added more steps and work and potential failure points just to be lazy 😂😂
