Hi, Great tutorial... But, I'm having issues when trying to follow the "Luma Matte" step, (using After Effects 2024) tried googling and just asked CHAT GPT, but no help... simply, there are no options bellow "No Track Matte" no (Alpha Matte, Alpha Inverted Matte, Lume Matte or Luma Inverted Matte) What am i missing.... Thanks ☺(will add what i missed if i find out, for those with same issue.) Figured it out, in after effects 2024 they changed the UI, it's now two icons next to the dropdown menu, to the right, Don't know why they did this! hope this helps someone. ☺

An excellent tutorial. It is a shame I had to dig so far to find your tutorial on this topic, but it was worth it. While I only really need parts of it - it has a lot of great information, especially regarding animating the sun and grid.

Hi, thanks for the video. We need to do something similar but my concern is the change of the traction on the tread-belt. because we intend to ask women to walk on this treadmill wearing highheels if the surface becomes more sleepery it could be a big safety hazard. My question is did you have significant change on the traction of the treadbelt after painting it over?

Very nice and Useful!!! Thanks @CapVFX! For those who are searching the same way for doing it Nuke its quite easy. You just merge your overlay over your footage based on a alpha mask. The mask is a copy of your footage after adjusting the levels and bluring it.... Just copy this code in your Nuke Node Graph. First of all, nice work. Looks really awesome. Just a question about the work flow, why did you choose to film all the bandmembers separately and not all together?
@CapVFX
@CapVFX Жыл бұрын
Thx. I shot them separately because I wanted to spread them out in a 3D space . You could then move the camera around in AE and make it look like the band is standing in the environment. If I would have filmed the bandmembers all togheter I would had a really large room and a huge green screen, spent a lot of time to motion track the footage. Also, to get cool camera perspectives would require a crane. If I had the resources then the result would have been more realistic. My method is a bit less expensive I guess

@@CapVFX that definitely makes sense. I am playing with the thought of doing a music video like the one you have made here, but haven't tried green screen before, so I am trying to figure out what to do, what my limitations are, and so forth. But like you I do not have a large green screen available, and must make due what I can, with cost in mind. But I think the way you did it, is a good starting point, and have given me a lot of inspiration. So thank you for that 👍 I will try using unreal engine, but will have to practice a little bit before I do the video. Maybe.. I will see. 😁

I've been working on a 3D animation and I've been scouring KZbin for a way to make the scene feel more realistic. This tutorial popped up and it's going to help sell that there's really a camera in the scene! I know there's a way to do lens dirt with Blender, but it creates massive render times and it's unfortunately difficult to set up. After Effects is my home turf so this will be great! Thanks!
@CapVFX
@CapVFX Жыл бұрын
Yeah it's a subtle but effective FX that adds realism to 3D renders especially. I tried do this in Blender, but it was a hustle. I think that After Effects is the way to go when it comes to this kind of post production work.

My ground solid is importing behind the camera. :( Edit: Fixed this. The video says that the z should be pointing towards you, but it would be better to say that you should be between the z and x arrows. Now my main problem is that the imported AE camera doesn't match the sensor size that I entered in fSpy, so my focus and depth of field are way off in AE.
@CapVFX
@CapVFX Жыл бұрын
Sorry for a late reply. I'm glad you fixed it. Thanks for the feedback and Your main problem: Have you tried without typing in the sensor size in fSpy? I think that the fSpy camera parameters handles the sensor size automatically. Let me know if it works or not. Thanks
