Wow!! This is awesome!! Fabric is so expensive these days. Please do more videos like this. I always find nice fabric on ugly clothing at thrift stores, and I never know what to do with it.

This just popped up in my feed. This is a FANTASTIC thrift flip. You took the typical “turn pants into a skirt” to another level. No one would be able to tell that this skirt was at one time a pair of men’s trousers. Well done!

Yay! Thank you!

This goes beyond upcycling. Great job. No-one would be able to tell it's from men's trousers. What a great way to make use of all that precious fabric.

Thanks for your comment. When taking up lined slacks with pockets, you have to consider if you can live without the pocket or if you want to go to the "extreme" detail of restructuring the pocket. It is quiet a job!

I ran across your videos because I shredded my spaghetti strap so obviously I needed help before attempting another one and that's how I ended up watching your videos. My daughter just started sewing and she's sewing a dress and it has a ruffled bodice and so she too searched KZbin and found your video on how to do ruffles and she was telling me "Mom you have to watch this lady" she was trying to remember your name and then she mentioned "And she even shows how to use the ruffle foot". I remembered you had done a video about how to use that foot. We both reached for our phones because we both had been saving your videos but we didn't know anyways I found the saved video first and handed her my phone. We both love your videos. You're great at explaining how to do everything. I hope you continue to do the videos. My daughter is going to watch your videos for beginners. Just want to say thank you for taking the time to do the videos.

My husband has some suits he no longer wants and I want to use them for myself. This video is fantastic for the trousers....... how about doing something with a suit jacket.....lol. I've just got to Subscribe and Like this video. Thank you for sharing with us.
@NilerTaylor-relindesigns7 жыл бұрын
Sorry it has taken so long for me to respond. I've been a little under the weather. I'm sure your skirts will turn out great. As far as the suit jacket, several years ago I had a client that had a favorite jacket that belonged to her deceased uncle. We tailored the jacket to fit her, cutting down the shoulders, shortening the length, and taking in the waist. It turned out so good. So...maybe you could have a 2pc suit for you (skirt and tailored jacket). Thanks for watching and for your comment.

My late husband and I were very close in size. He told me to stop wearing long skirts. I look very good in pencil skirts, but can't afford to buy a lot of new ones. I figured I'd donate half of his clothes to a couple of programs for veterans in our city and keep a few pieces to refashion. This is the first video I've seen which takes into consideration switching the zipper facing, keeping the interfacing structure, and adding the feminine bottom part. I can sew well enough to change a few items of clothing of his. I also have some other oversized corduroys with the big wales which are now very hard to find and expensive. Thank you so very much for making your videos. What is the average real time for this type of project?

Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you, radiation treatments (for breast cancer) have been kicking my butt! Today was one of my better days. You can use the jeans, just make sure that the jeans are "baggy or have pleats" that's what I used in this video. The fullness of the pants/jeans helps the "hips" hopes this info answers your question. Niler
