Wow!! The painting and the wood top are amazing. Great game selection too. BOTW looks MUCH better while being played on your tv stand. 🙂

This is fantastic!! I was thinking having someone make a top for me for a lego table, but now I definitely think I can do it myself. I will just have a bigger edge piece so it can go up (need a lip for the legos) and down to look finished. I was just going to place it on a couple of 2x2 cube storage cases anyway. Perfect!

I love the way this turned out! You are so creative. I have been binge watching your videos and I loved your video of how the mermaid pillow was ruining your life. But now I have also succumbed to the dreaded pillow struggle.. with the pillows on your pottery barn couch! I cant get them out of my head haha 😂 In my attempts to not be creepy I checked out home goods, tj maxx, etc. For them or something similar but to no avail. If you could please let me know where you got them it would help me so much! Love your videos thanks for sharing your awesome projects and giving people confidence to tackle projects that seem daunting 😊

I really love the tv stand. I am redoing my place and my sister has given me some old end tables and a coffee table....Wonder what I could do with those to make them look better. Also, I am going to do a countertop in my kitchen similar to how you did the top on your tv stand. I might just use plywood though then stain it and then poly it. You are a true inspiration girl! Keep these videos coming so we know what to do. I also have one of those large hutch pieces like the one you had trouble with. I want to paint it but I don't know if I have the strength!!! LOL

You did a great job! I’m doing the same to my tv console ( same material as yours) but it’s my first time working with chalk paint. Is it normal for the paint to scratch off easily? Or did I not clean it probably? I’m worried I may have ruined it😱

I'm having the same issue with a desk, I think its the finish on the particle board, I had never seen those paint bubbles before but mine did exactly what hers did.....I hope someone can help us...

Hi ! I just found your page and love it ! I am just starting to learn about chalk paint and painting furniture. When useing chalk paint do you not need a top coat or primer ? It looked like u just put straight chalk paint on there with no sanding, primer and top coat ? Hope to hear from you I’m going to start painting a big piece soon thanks ☺️
@TheDIYCottage6 жыл бұрын
Hey! With chalk paint I don't use a primer, but you do need to use some sort of top coat to seal it. You can use furniture wax, or some sort of other sealer (my personal favorite is polycrylic). Mosf of the time I don't film sealing it because you can't really see anything because it's clear. It just looks like I'm painting air 😂I hope that helps! 😁

That is super cute! Why not get Lowe’s to cut your big wood?
@TheDIYCottage6 жыл бұрын
I used to have them do it! But for more precise projects like this, I found that (unless you get someone who is really good at using their saw) they never quite got the cuts perfect. So now I just cut them by hand. (Until I get a table saw 😍)

We are possibly doing this to our entertainment center. Was this one made of veneer?
@TheDIYCottage6 жыл бұрын
It was actually the cheaper kind of material. More like an ikea piece than real wood veneer. But it would work on veneer too! :) Hope that helps!

I love you and your channel BUT...you NEED some power tools you will love them. I got an air compressor and 2 nailers for under $200. I love it because the nailer rarely splits the wood. If you are not sure of a technique you really should do some research first. I think you waste a lot of time and materials re doing your stuff. NOT that I haven't redone things. I am currently on my 3 round of attempting to stain my table dark and can't get it dark enough. I finally did through research on youtube and google. I love your channel and your projects.
@TheDIYCottage6 жыл бұрын
I completely agree about needing power tools! TRUST ME... It's just really expensive to get all of the tools. Frankly I'm desperate for a nailer, but the bills and other things take priority over new power tools. So I'm just gonna make due with what I have for right now. Good luck on your table staining! I have heard that wood conditioner can help the stain take darker, but I'm not sure if you can add if after there is stain on there already. Might be something you could look into :)
