I use it all the time 😊 but in Canada we don't have many colour choices. I always like to do more then two thin coats. Gives me a smoother finish ❤

I tried a makeover on a dark-stained chair using Rustoleum Chalked Paint. I was not at all happy with the results. Lots of coats needed (even though the can says no primer needed). The dark reddish stain bled through over and over and I finally just went with the flow and did a pink wash on it. I gave it to our little neighbor girls who fell in love with it so it wasn't a complete loss. 😉 People have tried since that paint first came out (which is about 10+ years ago) to say it worked as well as Annie Sloan chalk paint (which was THE most popular chalk paint at the time). Firstly, it isn't chalk paint but merely a super-matte latex paint. It's going to act just like any other latex paint except that the finish sheen is very very matte. Funny how people probably never read the label "Chalked" not "Chalk". I did read the label but was redoing furniture at the time and thought maybe it 'could' be a good idea to use this paint. I was never happy with the results. As you say you did 4 coats of the paint AND a top coat. That's not much of a savings IMHO.

@@uscitizen898 ooh I like the sound of a pink wash! Good save! I think with many projects, one of the challenges is rethinking what you’ll do if something unexpected happens, ie, paint doesn’t act like you expected. I’ve frequently thought the more expensive paint like Annie Sloan would be the same cost with less work, so I’d consider trying it soon!

Try a roller. I find it’s a smoother finish since I don’t have a sprayer.
