Wow just Wow! Thank you so much for this video. I am new to sewing and this was my second attempt at making a dress- it is wearable but seeing your video I am able to see where I made some mistakes! Going to attempt to make another one!

Hi Paige, I'm finding it difficult to read the measurements, etc, for extending the sleeve. Is this extension, and how to do it, posted anywhere else? I can see the general idea, but the white writing is what I can't view in parts. Thanks in advance and I love this green velvet. I'm about to make it in an olive green colour. Cheers, Catherine

Paige, you are amazing!!!!!!!! You are gorgeous, kind, patient and soooooo skilled! You are beyond inspiring!!! Since finding your channel I have bought several patterns and fabrics you worked on and can’t wait to get started on them. You take everything to a higher level!!! I recently finished my first college course in apparel construction but have been sewing apparel for many years. I love your thorough and patient approach. I will pay more attention to fit going forward. You have an eye for design. I’m so impressed with you! I also liked your tips on sewing with kids. I’m teaching my daughter to sew and it is a bonding experience. I love, love, love your fabric here. Where did you buy it? Is there a link? It looks stunning!!!!! I could go on and on about you! (I have also bought 2 books you recommended and am currently indulging in diving into them!!) Thank you very much for sharing your talent, knowledge and beauty with the world!!! I know HOW MUCH work these videos are, especially with small kids (I have 3 myself: 2, 6 and 8 years old). Paige- you are the sunshine after a storm!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Another wonderful video, thank you. I have a question about the crocheted jumper 🥰 you were wearing during the video; Did you make the jumper, if so what pattern did you use?? 😊😍🥰
@PaigeHandmade3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I did make it. I made it up using granny squares. Sort of like a vest and then adding on the sleeves in the round. I knit the button band and cuffs. I didn't use a pattern and I'm not sure of one that is similar.

Probably not necessary to serge the seams. Velvet doesn’t fray. Beautiful dress!

Have you noticed that nearly all patterns produce a size or three too large of a garment? I find it irritating and I feel bad that I wasted time and material making something that is too big.
@PaigeHandmade2 жыл бұрын
Many people do find that to be true. I think the big brands, such as McCalls, are one size too big for my taste. I look at the finished garment measurements before making the garment to gauge how it would fit. A lot is learned through trial and error, but some skills help you find a better fit from the start. Some people paper/tissue fit before cutting out the fabric. Some make up a muslin/toile to check fit.
