I've been looking around trying to find planter box builds, that will attach to a wooden cedar fence...using the french cleat system. Then I happened apon your video and am ordering the material to build one. Similar to yours. . What makes your Garden build videos really attractive, is watching the *Mrs Nakid* work with you, on the builds... . Not many Men around my parts, like to share their Powertools or projects with their partners....lol All your builds are great. do you have a Cut list for your builds available for your loyal viewers ?? Cheers

We live just south of Seattle. We bought our house in 1992 when our girls were babies. I am always looking for good ideas to maximize our space and opportunity. We have one deck on the east-facing side of the house and that is where I want to put the planter. I think I’ll change the design just a bit and make it free-standing and put rollers on the bottom to rotate. Thanks so very much!

@TheNakidGardeners4 жыл бұрын
That is the beauty of DYI garden projects. You can design and build them how you want to. I believe this was 36" long and 6" deep and 6" wide. That should be perfect for your strawberries for the spring.

Questions, Now that you've been using this planter for about 2 1/2 years, is it still working well or have you realized any improvements you would like to make? Are the 3 large r holes enough for good drainage? Thank you.
@TheNakidGardeners2 жыл бұрын
I think if I had to redo this planter I would use some exterior wood glue, along with longer faster and staples. The drainage is fine since most plants we put in this have shallow roots and don't need much watering. #sagethecat loves the catnip we grow for him in the bottom, lol.
@tphan12054 жыл бұрын
What kind of nails did you use? And what wood did you use for the ends and rail? Thanks
@TheNakidGardeners4 жыл бұрын
I used pressure treated wood; however, you can use pine or even cedar. For the nails, you want to use at least an 1" brad nails. Are you thinking about doing one?

Almost done building mine. With it being outside, would it be a bad idea to stain it?
@TheNakidGardeners4 жыл бұрын
You can stain it if you like but you have to be careful on the stain to make sure it was/is BPA safe. only reason why we do not and have not done any stains.
@fiazhussain6654 жыл бұрын
Hi there, I tried this and it came out well. However once I put the soil and watered the herbs the wood has now started to bend and brad nails are exposed. Any advice?
