What you have to watch for is liquids that crystallise when they dry out. You find a solenoid like that will work for a few weeks, or even months, and eventually fail. You may find the same thing with the flow sensor, but an alternative way to measure it is to place the reservoir tank onto a load cell and measure its weight. This way your measuring device never comes into contact with the liquid. Sugary drinks would be the kind of liquid that you would find problems with.

Good project. You have used solenoid valve, pump and flow sensor. A much simpler setup will use food grade silicon tubing and stepper motor driven perstaltic pump. I have used the peristaltic pump for liquid medicine dispenser...using medical grade tubing and another project dispensing chili sauce at a restaurant.

Accuracy should be bad if you're using s201, Use s401 or s403C for better accuracy....

Great Idea, good accuracy simple circuit, but amazing!! congrats, I was actually going to do something similar to yours for a project... I'm reverse engineering your circuit😅, but will ad some things of my own and make a few changes. Maybe will use a 8A buck/boost converter to power everything, will switch the transistor as well. Might add a latch circuit as well, for powering off the Arduino when not in use, to reduce consumption, and turn it on again as soon as I press a key or button, or even an IR optical sensor...

You must use peristatic pumps for juice or any edible thing.. Greece of the pump which you used in this project is easily come in contact with edible liquid and can contaminate it.. soo not so good for health where as in peristaltic pumps, no direct contact of liquid happen with pump moving parts and keep liquid from contaminate free..

Depends on what pump you get. But if you actually want to use it for stuff you want to drink then get the pumps which can pump liquid without the liquid ever touching the equipment. It will be much safer that way
