DIY Weber Monocouche Render - Part 2

My second attempt using one coat Weber Pral M Render.
As a DIYer, I attempted this Monocouche rendering project after watching other DIYers on KZbin. My methods are purely trial and error and are not intended for others to follow.
That said, I do hope that this video inspires others to take on their own DIY projects, and if that project is rendering, then maybe some of the footage will go a small way to helping.

Hey Jon, I wanted to attempt this but couldn’t find any DIY rendering videos. I saw plenty of PROs doing it and they have all the expensive equipment. I’ve used standard stuff and still managed an ‘ok’ finish. Part 3 is now up if you haven’t seen it

@scott_diy Thanks, Scott! I'll check it out :-) We had a little bungalow rendered with Weberend (over some pretty dated pebbledash) some 8 years ago. Think they were Kosovans, as I remember... I'd only ever heard of 'K-rend', at the time, but these guys were enamoured with Weber, and as they'd done some pretty high-end properties in Chesire and Wirral, so we trusted them. My wife is Polish, and they use a lot more Render in Germany and Eastern Europe than they do in most of England, so she was very keen to go ahead. Anyways, they did a fine job, we were very impressed. We had the insulation fixed first, and the render applied directly onto that, so slightly different to the way you did yours, but the same principle. We didn't take the pebbledash off, rather popping the insulation directly into the wall without removing the PD. Great work, though buddy, particularly building an entire extension from scratch, without extensive building training or experience!!!! (I found your videos by searching for DIY extension builds - my wife had a flash of 'inspiration'!!) Takes a special kind of willpower to undertake such a project.... Bet you're well proud!!!!!

@scott_diy PS I recommend Stu Crompton and Rob Songer for good KZbin Brickies.... They're very good seasoned, tradesmen.... That said, there's a special place for folk like you that are doing things like this for the first/ second/ third time, to inspire us novices!!!

Thank you for the comment. Glad you’ve had a good experience with the Webber render. I’ve been told k-ren is a better product but have no experience with it to compare. For now the finish I great and we love the colour. I must say, it’s been hard work, especially without all the expensive tools. I am proud of the extension, it’s truly opened my eyes to what can be done with the right willpower and dedication. I plan to release a full length KZbin video about the extension build. But it requires a lot of time to edit 👍🏻

Totally impressed with your courage and determination! Massive well done! Like you I quit a decent job to do handyman work - except I was 52 with mortgage paid off and my wife in a good job of her own! Wishing great success in all you do!!!
