Question, where did you get the sheer fabric and how did you attach the lights to the fabric? Did you just zip tie to the top rail?

I wish the video explained how you “secured the lights with some zip ties.” Are you supposed to stab holes in the curtain for the zip ties to be able to wrap around the pole? How does that work? Also, the finished backdrop image shows a monogram letter as a part of the backdrop that is seemingly floating in space. How do you achieve that??

Sorry it wasn't clear. For the lights - yep, just stab it through the curtain! The curtain I used is sheer and is easy to just poke the zip tie through. For the monogram, I secured it in place with fishing wire Hope this helps!

Erica Saunders thank you!! I actually didn’t secure it to anything. The legs held up the arch pretty nicely! If it were outside you may have to secure it down (kind of like securing a tent) I also give some tips on my blog post if you’d like to check it out 😊

Hi This arch is perfect for our wedding. I was wondering how stable it is as I am worried about the weight of the lights and voile. Did you have to secure it? thanks

Thanks! It’s pretty sturdy but I do recommend getting a wider pipe (3/4 maybe). The weight of the lights and everything on it didn’t make it any less stable honestly. I didn’t have to secure it but I would recommend this for indoor use.

Hey girl!! I actually hung them with fishing wire to give it that floating effect. I tripled the wire for the letter since it was slightly heavy.

This is gorgeous but you could have saved so much money by buying a dollar bag of straws, rose gold or copper spray paint, hot glue gun and glue and your floral pieces. And still got the same gorgeous effect. Thanks for sharing your ideas!

This is awesome and I'm going to make it for my wedding. I just have a question before I get my supplies. How many T fittings and 90 degree fittings do I need to get?

Hi Kristen!! Glad you’re making this!! I go into more detail on my blog post to make it sturdier for outdoors but for this one I used 2 fittings on the frame that has wider openings so the pipe can fit both ends and 4 for the legs that has 1 side wide & the other side narrow for the end caps. I also used 2 T fittings

Hi! It’s a modified Himmeli I made from straws! The greens were vines I cut and stuck inside & it was attached with fishing wire 😊

What was your overall cost?

A Davis overall cost was just about $100 but I think it came under since i used a half inch copper. To make it more sturdy I definitely recommend getting a better quality copper.

NaturallyNeesh yes!! It took me about 45 minutes to make it! I think attaching the lights and curtains took longer than making the actual arch 😂

hi Kellyann! it does stand pretty well indoors- it's not as sturdy as wood but definitely does the job. I discuss what I would do differently on my blog post and an idea on how you can reinforce it if you want to use it outdoors.
